Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Tell your hubby responsibility is what children need to learn and grow, this generation now wants everything for free and everyone else to the work, its a sad thing that kids these days know nothing about anything except video games, They are never made to do a darn thing, and everything is expected to be handed over right NOW!!! What children need is to learn to be self sufficient, and not depend on anyone for anything they can easily do themselves.......Kim

My first three turkeys (ever) are doing well. They have a couple very active tutors that keep them hopping. 2 blue slates, 1 royal palm.

The Cinco de Mayo turks are cooking (black spanish marked B and one marked CT

) and doing well.

Had more tutors hatch today, 4 of 4 Marraduna Basque eggs and 2/4 (maybe 3/4 if the peeping egg goes on to hatch) Blue Laced Red Wyandotte from shipped eggs, part of a contest from NYD. Outstanding hatch from shipped eggs!
Also had a couple of silkie serama hatch, man are they cute! Then a couple blue silkies from my blue cuckoo pair. Quite a mixed bag of chix mix.

Received a bunch of Bantam Black Rock eggs and a handful of Bantam White Rock eggs from an Easter hatch contest, put them in the incubator along with 20+ Iowa Blues and Olive Eggers from my flock.

With all the peeping, at least it SOUNDS like spring in here, even if we're still waiting on spring to arrive outside. What we have now is a moat around the house instead of the drifts from a couple weeks ago, and it's currently raining.... sideways.

Good rainy evening all!
Just sitting at the bottom of the steps waiting(because it is just a matter of time) for DS3 to come out of his room. I have put him back 2x so far in the last 15min, but I know he hasn't given up yet. Both times he says to me, "no Mom! You 'posed be in the kitchen!". Soo very stressful. This has been going on for almost a year. Last night was 10pm, sometimes its 11:30pm. Nothing seems to work. Ugh...can't wait for him to grow out of it.
We went thru this with Son #1. We finally turned his doorknob around and locked him in at bedtime.

Had a nice 2 minutes chat with heather when I picked up the chickies...so tiny and cute. It looks like a blue but has the one patch of brown on its shoulder..I think some crazy colors with this sweet little baby.

Off to pack up some stuff for a friends rummage sale in 2 weeks...waunakee has their big one... either mothers day weekend or the weekend before. It is huge.

Judge and amy, must be a boy thing! My son tried the same thing for a bit. It was easily nipped in the bud. Do your boys have something special to sleep with? Mine likes his fish tank light on, and his wooby (blanket). When I offered to take these special items away when he got out of bed... suddenly his room seemed a good place to be!

Colton, congrats on the chicks! Jealous of all the babies in the house!!!

Bbp, good for the horses!

Class was fun tonight :) we made leashes and dog shampoo.
Well, now that im cought up, im off to bed.

My daughter would try that too. I just held the door shut one night for a few minutes and told her she was locked in there. I said that if she couldn't manage to stay in her room I would have to lock her door every night. My kids both sleep with their doors open, they are scared to have them shut, so it worked.

LOL! My oldest was a Houdini! I put the childproof doorknob covers on the inside of the door..... she would figure them out eventually. We ended up putting a small hook and eye at the top of the door. She was getting up and had figured how to leave our apartment so for safety reasons we had to do something to make certain she was staying in the apartment...... and this was when she was 2.

No punching bag tonight but I did get my butt kicked; and enjoyed it. Have to give a shout out to my midwife; her labor breathing techniques helped me get through the worst of the core building exercises!

I hear you on the responsibility of the kids!!! They can never learn it soon enough! I see it too often where people just will NOT take the initiative and do something when someone else has not told they them need to do it! UGH...... if you see that there is a job that need to be done: do it.

I WILL be going to the Horse fair next year! I am going to take vacation for it dang it!
