Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

My poor sump pump..the basement is suffering and it can't keep up. I have no idea what it is going to look like in a week if the rain does not let up a bit. It is snowing a few flakes and not raining at the moment. It is supposed to hold off till noon now. I have much to do. People are coming for chicks I hope today and tomorrow. I am selling my blue silkie pullet. I will probably regret it later.  Male silkies help with baby's. I have a male silkie in with two groups of chicks and they each help to keep them warm. It is adorable.

Silkies make great fuzzy warm pillows for happy little turkeys too! They both cried for each other when I separated them last week. Turkey was getting way to big to have his security silkie though since the silkie could run around underneath the turkey.

Marking my spot! VICKI--more snow! poor you and chickies too! I laughed when you said you were going to bring them into the kitchen to play...maybe you could bake cookies with them?

No ambition to scrap here...but loving the time off. I heard that one of my calls was hit on the road this morning...always something...

This days has been weird, like some kid is flipping the weather machine dial. Was blizzarding 10 minutes ago, now clear, snowing earlier, but nothing stuck, now we have white cover, wind is wicked.

Gotta go groom dogs, Aussie nationals starts this week. Wish I could go, but the dogs get to go on vacation without me. :p

Can anyone here point me in the right direction to get my flock npip certified?

Snowing up here to !!

Yep, I wouldn't use Sunny Side because I don't want to get the hybred chickens. I know they produce nice big eggs an a lot of them but they don't lay for as long (at least this is what I"ve heard) and I won't rehome or cull my hens.

Anyway, my neighbor is going to be ordering (at least that is what they told me) and she likes McMurray. My niece who lives out in Black River Falls wants to get a few hens. Neither of them want straight run or for sure my niece doesn't.

So I was just making suggestions to them. I'm not in the market for any chicks !!! If I'd get off my lazy butt and seperate some of my birds I could make some for myself but I tend to hatch out rooster as some of you may already know.

I think my niece wants barred Rocks and Buff orps and the neighbor wants barred rocks the last time I talked to them.
They had black australorps from Ideal last year that I bought for them in exchange for a dog house they had and they didn't lay well. I think the weather last year had a neg affect on alot of layers, at least in my neighborhood.
Et'sfriend would like about 3 buff Orp pullets so if my neighobr orders I'd have them add a few on to the order for me.

I'd like to set some seb good eggs but there is a mixed breed gander running with them and I don't want any more mutts.Need more pens but FIRST the snow has to melt !!!

Wish I was at the horse fair too but with the weather this crappy It won't be much fun outdoors anyway..

I should drop a hint to my sister to pick up some pony things for Addies pony !!!!

Oh VickyW I forgot to mention that the Fix is In is looking for volunteers for Antigo and of course Rhinelander and Crandon on occasion (but I mostly get that one ) tee hee !!
