Its been a while since I've been on here. Had a lot to do this last month and guess I kind of forgot about this. My chickens are all doing well. Butchering rooster this week, so really excited to get that out of the way. Also starting a new batch of eggs in the incubator tonight. Went morel mushroom hunting, found a bunch of them with my dad and going to fry them up tomorrow.

Yeah Colton is back! There are a few people that will be real happy when they notice!!!!

We are in Indianapolis tonight and heading to the Indy 500 tomorrow morning. My darn foot is killing me, so I hope it doesn't swell up too much by the time I get home tomorrow from the track. Its always a good time heading back here. DH has family here and we just don't get to see them that often.

I put in a semi-permanant dye into DD12 hair (red), it actually looks good on her. I've only dyed the entire head of my best friend before, but DD12 wanted highlight style coloring added. Man am I glad I don't do that for a living!

As far as packing for chickenstock....uh, I will think about it after I get back home, unpack, and wash clothes. DD10 has a dance to go to Friday night, so it'll just be DS9 and I coming on Friday and the rest of the crew on Saturday afternoon. I still have no idea what I am bringing for W.E. gift or raffle. I told DH to look around the garage for things that would be good for either of these. I'm gonna look in the cellar and attic. Since we are relatively new to the chicken world we wouldn't have any items for chickens sitting around that we didn't need! We might bring a jug of dandelion wine. DH has to look at it to see.

Since he has not been on here in a while...... FYI for all the newbies, Colton is our youngest Cheesehead @ 13. A very well mannered and intelligent young man..... that Angie scared away for a while...

What a long day...... but productive in the end. Work was so SLOW! We have a new bulk loader who cannot seem to multi-task at all, and you have to be able to multi-task for this job....... came home and was pleasantly surprised by my children, they had weeded BOTH the front flowerbeds of the majority of the grass.

I was able to get a few more things plunked into the ground and then I took the two middle children to the dreaded mall so my youngest DD could find a dress for her 8th grade graduation. Finally made it home by 9 PM! So I should be sleeping BUT the DH had to go to work at noon instead of 5 AM, so he will be showing up at midnight..... poor guy. Tomorrow is hanging out with the relatives. I have an Angel Food cake to make, and a fruit salad (yummy, yummy).

I have WAY too much to do and NO time to get it all done!

well all hooked up now. pill not doing to much. Just ate another snack. I had better turn the tv off ane get orr the puter. just give in to the nigjt .... dang it's so early.

Nighgt nightg all

Hi all-
Feeling so much better today. We have been 60hrs of no puking so I am praying that we are over it. That would mean that only 3/6 of us got it. Not too bad...
Bought all my plants today for the garden. Still have to get the seeds though. I really need advice on this one. How do I keep the chickens from eating my garden? So far they have not found it, but if they eat my MIL plants I think I would have to get rid of them. She is on the verge already since they seem to love to bathe in her flower beds. Will they destroy a whole garden? Right now the just scratch around the flowers, never the plants. Are veggies different though?
My poor Ameraucana seems to be the "favorite" now. It is brutal! With 4 roosters now it seems like she is always getting "attention". Can it be too much?
My niece graduates from high school tomorrow. I can't believe how fast time flies!
Hope you all have a great weekend

Hi Colton
good to see your back,,
That's what my chiropractor said, Zeke!

Nice to see you again, Colton!

What picture? If you attached one, it didn't come through.

Some of my gang really went free-ranging today. They were seen crossing the road and heading toward the river. I went out with some treats to lure them back but one of my customers was already shooing them back across the road. She always brings them treats so they were happy to oblige her. She rewarded them with some oatmeal. Now every time a customer pulls into the lot they all go running towards them looking for a handout. Super spoiled!

I have lots of rhubarb and asparagus! YAY!! YUM!!!

G'nighty-nite to you all!!

I'm afraid I'll have to deal with the flock invading the garden if I ever get it planted! The chicken yard has to get finished and the tall deer fencing has yet to go up. I need to have three more of me and a couple clones of the hubs, too!!

Glad to hear you're all feeling better!!
