Hope you all have a great bash!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Hi Everyone,
I strayed from the flock for a while. Glad to be back. It's always nice to have chicken support.

I have 3 cochin bantys laying on eggs right now. Hoping for some nice splash and buff.

Happy Saturday all! Hopefully the weather has been nice for the bash. Sounds like there's a lot going on
there and would be hard to go home empty handed! LOL
So I got my 10 babies (red-sex link) Thursday and everyone has been getting along great. An occasional peck from both bigs and littles. I use a kiddies pool inside the coop and my 2older girls just jump out whenever. I forgot how small and fuzzy a day old chick is!
thx Jim for the comment about the straw. I was worried that since it's so long and stiff that it would hurt their legs trying to scratch. It does seem to be working fine to have both shavings and straw down. :)
I forget who mentioned a meet for bville area peeps, but I'd be up for that sometime! (Coop tours??)
I need help with when/how to introduce my chicks to free-range. We don't have a run on he coop, and was wondering if I have to start them out using one? If I do that then when do I let them out of the run? (Please don't roll eyes at me... I warned you that I was new to this! lol)
I want a small run to start them in but cant see asking DH to help... hes strapped for time as it is and I don't want to push him. We ended up having 8of our 40yr old Colorado blues blow down in the storm the other night. We're in clean up mode now :(
My 2 oldest chicks are 3 1/2 wks and I think they should get out soon. The coop is about 8x12 so its not cramped at least.

I'm bummed that I didn't make it to Clintonville for the bash tonight! Had family drop by just before the store closed - I didn't get away in time.

Hope you bashers are having a GREAT time! Can't wait to see the pics!

I'm home safe and sound. It was very very fun!!! The Bash is not to be missed. I wish I could have stayed tonight. But my oldest is getting confirmed to morrow morning. My baby!

I won the Amyable art piece. So COOL. The food was superb for the potluck.

We laughed, and laughed over drinks last night. I only had 2, yes 2!, and I had to stop. I had enough of a buzz that a third would have made me throw up. Now CC on the other hand... She can really put them away!

Terri did not waive any knives at children, so that's wonderful. The bunk house was fantastic!!! I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

The kids all played REALLY well! No fights, or injuries. It was so nice to not be watching someone every minute we were there!

I did however forget Kristi's eggs (I'm super sorry... Jim forgot to give them to me too!). I also forgot the bumpy ball from Kendra. A thoughtful gift to be sure! I brought home a gosling, a chick of some origin, 2 blue laced red wyandottes, 2 splash English orpingtons, and 3 buff orpingtons.

I am jealous of the wine tasting this evening, and hope that will make a comeback next year!!! Have a great night!
