Oh heather I am so happy that you are back,on track with everything. Glad deli wasmablemto giv some fresh ideas. Rberry...feel free to come over and hug one of my chickens! They love it. Wemrehomed both roosters over the weekend. So our only rooster we think is a young silkie. Sorry cant help you heather. Just waiting on my guineas to hatch and when candled only a few looked viable so cross some fingers!
Had a friend say they had a wierd thing happen with a broody hen and I thought I would ask our guys thoughts. She had similar eggs, some in incubator and some under broody. They were shipped so same age...she said that her broody hatched like 4 days early compared to the incubated ones. Anyone had this happen before? Warmer temps and warm momma???fluke?

Had my twentieth hs reunion today. Nice to see old friends and some ..well you know... Hubby was bored stiff. Kids just ran and ran and were seaty muddy messes when we left for my moms house.mnow just tired.

Does anyone within an hr or so of Sauk City have a soon to be hatched egg? My Icelandic has been broody for 6 weeks. I don't know if her little body can make it another 3. I gave her turkey eggs, none of them hatched. I thought She'd get over it but she hasn't.

Deli had the idea to try giving her a baby, or soon to hatch egg,to get her to stop. She is all bones. She won't break her brood. I need to get her calories, or a baby ASAP.

Vicki if Halden didn't have therapy M-F (usually all day) I would make a trip. But I can't do it on the weekends because of work. I just know I'm gonna be out of luck. And since Riga made it through the worst, I hate to lose her too.

Advice??

You need to break her if we can't work out these eggs. Perhaps meet at Terri Os Tuesday? I have a few ready to hatch eggs.(3)

Terri..If i come work for you for a few hours Tuesday and help..can I steal some eggs? Like BCM? I have a broody I would like to give them to. I can't hatch them in the incubator, it never works for me.

That is the overview of the day. We finished it off with a cookout and Rice Krispie treats. Very nice indeed! It was absolutely the most wonderful thing to hear what I WAS doing wrong and how to fix it. While this fermented feed is way messier, and my chores take way longer right now, it will get faster, and the birds will be healthy and happy. They are already looking perkier (not all, but a lot) and are totally flocking around my feet when they see me thinking I'm handing out new food. Now I just have to get burning the wood so I have the wood ash dust bath for them, and they will be the happy chooks I want them to be.

We both enjoyed our day with you and your family..it was delightful. Thank you for the wonderful day. You were doing many things right!

Hi all--just thought I would ask why are you the dirtiest one BL4?

I drove to the North side of Watertown tonight to look at some hay...talked him into $3.50/bale delivered! WHEW! DD was panicking that we were going to run out! Now if she would just pay for the load I would be all set! She did have the gall to complain that we have to find some grass hay too because this stuff will be too rich!

I just cant seem to win!
