Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hi All!
Man it was a long day filled with a bunch of little stuff getting done. Got more fish cleaned and in the freezer too. Didn't finish the freezer I cleaned out. Hubby shut the door on it before he went to work and I didn't realize it 'till I went to finish it. So, it didn't dry out. Moved on to other projects.

Glad there doesn't seem to be anymore sick critters, at least not newly sick. Jim, hope you can figure out what's up with Dora!

All chicks still accounted for

Oh, young son was digging through some of his stuff and found a "quick sight" for my .22! He calibrated for me so all I need now is some practice.

Night All!
"Have Gun, Will Travel" Lady

I am still not out of spinach noodles for the chickens.

Am I the only one that runs outside and checks to make sure my coop and garden looks good for company before checking the house??? Why yes Vic.. I think you ARE the only one! I'm suprised you dont have fancy dress saddles for the girls when company visits! :D

HMMMMMM, dress saddles, I never thought of that, great idea!!!!!

TO - also, you must be so proud of your.daughter!!!

Beautiful pics of Yellowstone, I so hope to see it someday. Actually I kind of want to take the train there though.

Scuffle hoe. Had one once. Gave it away. Hubby made me a "winged weeder" but better than the advertised one and I love it.

HEATHER - so glad you got such expert help and you are now on a happier track with your chookie. :hugs

Ok, back to catching up on all the chatting!

I can work something for Tues. Vicki and Terri. Halden has one therapy session in the morning. I'll work with Vicki's time frame. My boys are in summer school too. It wouldn't be a huge deal to get a sitter if you guys needed me to head out before they got home. Oh I would be so sad to have a drive and coffee without kids...

More pics!

Back in the mountains..... this way home was much nicer than the way into the park.....

Back in the Big Horn Mts...

I think they were getting tired of the photo ops...

And back in the Black Hills and touring Jewel Cave.

Back in the Badlands......

Hey, who is that! A smile too! ;)

Hi, hey, HAY! Got up early to go to the garden...it is getting darker and darker...maybe not! I might go back to bed--I am so tired and the coffee is not working as yet!
The hay is coming after 5:30 tomorrow...I sure hope it isnt going to be raining!

Yeah, I think I am closing my eyes for a bit. CC you are welcome to head on over! (you too JJ)

Have a great day! TErrriO

good morning.. it rained last night,, big surprise, eh ?

Now I will have to till the garden again to fluff it up.. then I can replant corn and beans.. I am leary about the beans, they did not come up the first time.. now, will they come up this time.. I think new seeds might be the answer.. we did buy new corn seed.. not my favorite species, but it should be OK for eating.. Jim P planted a half acre of corn, so we can get our canning corn from him..

I dug out the small tiller yesterday.. It was not froze up ,, and almost acted like it wanted to start..
I will pick up a new spark plug and maybe clean the carb .. It ran when I stored it about 10 years ago, so it should run again, right ? the thing is about 40 years old.. never gave me much problems..

Dora is on the mend.. she finally came to the supper table asking for hand-outs.. with her tail wagging.. first time in almost 3 months.. I do not condone feeding from the table, but I will make an exception in this case.. her muscles seem to be loosening up and she can climb the stairs much better, even without coaxing.. Annie took her for a walk on the leash..and she made it all the way to the mailbox and back.. seemed to enjoy it..

I WILL cut the purlins today,, if I do nothing else.. I donated yesterday to Annie's projects, so today she better not ask for any favors.. she still owes me some rock picking..

these purlins will just about use up all the rest of my red pine lumber.. I will be glad of that.. It would have just dry rotted away otherwise.. (some of it did, already)

For the past week (seems like longer) I've managed to keep from getting a cold/virus thing that the hubs has. Woke up this morning with congestion, scratchy throat and a cough. (No fever - YAY!) GRRRRR! Summer colds are the worst!

Hot and muggy again today and I still have seeds to plant. I tried to get up early to do it in the cool of the morning but just couldn't drag myself up. Now, though, it's time to make the donuts.

Ok, mind is a blank......... see ya all later.... have a good day !!

gee TerriO, I feel left out, too.. I can think of nothing I would rather do on a hot muggy day than unload a load of dry dusty hay..

I went out and took care of the birds.. then I set up the saw horses and selected a bunch of 2/8's to saw into small pieces.. IDK if humidity makes you sweat,, or if it just collects on you like on a cold glass of water,, but I am drenched ..

but I AM going to get those pieces cut, if it kills me..

the Dels are not laying lots of eggs.. getting 4 eggs for 7 hens.. after we collect enough eggs for hatching,, I am going to butcher all the hens.. the last time I collected eggs from them, it was the same deal.. I have a feeling we fed about 4 freeloaders for a full year.. or else maybe they are taking turns laying.. either way,, they do not seem to be great egg layers..

If it is PM I will see you around 5 ish... If it is AM I am going to guess you will not be going that early. I will bring your ready to hatch eggs. I have several that will hatch Wednesday and Thursday so you will probably need to make plans to come get them and get them home. They will be fine in this heat with out incubation for a few hours being that close to hatch.
