We have to put up with the mud ducks over on this side. Somehow the land of 10,000 lakes has people that think they need to come pollute ours.

I like not politically correct. It's all good! And I don't want to TOTALLY generalize (just partially) but when I'm a tourist somewhere I don't act like I own the place. I don't act like the people around me should be at my beck and call, should be my personal servants, that I can treat their property any way I see fit, and just generally disrespect the local population. There are always some folks that are excited to be in the new place, and pleasant to be around, and are respectful of the people and places they stay in. But the majority of folks who come up to the Dells and Baraboo area are not. I'm sorry to ruffle people's feathers. I've grown up here,worked in these places, and it saddens me. This is just comment on the general decline of civility and respect that appears in the tourism industry. But when you see a large market share from one area displaying particular characteristics, it lends one to believe there could indeed be a correlation. How's that for pc?

good morning, I never subscribed to the "politically correct party" I refused when the first time I saw a "he/she" typed somewhere..

Annie just fell into the cockatiel and parakeet farming less than a year ago.. all of our birds are less than 2 years old.. I would say that if you have an 8 year old with issues, it is because it is 8 years old.. IDK how long these birds live, however.. a lump to the side of the vent would not be egg bound.. probably the equivelant of an old fogy's wart ..

I do not want to jinx it,, so I did not mention it earlier.. we have a baby peacock.. he is a couple of days old and seems strong and healthy.. Annie is treating him like royalty.. unlike she treats me..

and my project to get rid of all my turkeys just flew out the window.. we have 7 or 8 babies of them, too..

just how the heII do you get out of the chicken/fowl hobby ?

I have a woman coming from Oconomowok for a male peacock either late today or sometime tomorrow (Sat.).. IDK which one of these males is the father to this baby..

I am feeling a little better today.. maybe good enough to go up to the GH roof.. I had Vertigo (sp) yesterday so bad that I could hardly walk.. I spent most of the day laying down.. the second time this has happened to me.. DD#2 said it might be from all this pollen and high humidity ..?? I never thought I was allergic before.. maybe it is caused by these old age tag warts ?

Illinois must be a good place to be from,,, far from,,,, there are some people who have a cottage close to Annie's cousin on Nakomis, who drive up EVERY weekend in the summer..

I have a source for the oscilating stirrup hoe.. there is a site called Whizbang chicken plucker..
find that and look for the hoe.. It is a kit you can buy to make the hoe into a push pull type with a wheel on the front.. or you can look at the picture and design your own model out of a stirrup you might have on hand..

Yep. We get those too. Every Monday morning it's fishing the empty beer cases, fast food wrappers, bottles, cans, ........... out of water, off the shores and along every roadside. The businesses make money but the rest of us lose money paying to have their mess cleaned up so the place stays looking like it's what they expect and not where they came from. The worst tho are the ones that come up bringing their big city/money attitude with them and treat the folks that Live here like we're all backwoods unintelligent "hicks" with a sole purpose in life of just to serve them.

X2 - like what I said to BBP. We get some really great people come here every summer either as tourists or folks that own cabins but unfortunately they are becoming more and more the minority. I will never understand why some of them even come up here and behave in a way they would never dare at home but because they are in our "home" it's somehow ok, even if it goes so far as to put the physical health of ourselves or our children at risk! (Don't get me started on idiots with guns)

When we were kids the only vacations we had were at the Cabin in Monico. Been driving up here since I was about 5yrs old.... almost 50 yrs now (see CC some of us are not afraid to tell our age !!) lol I remember my Dad getting ticked off at the Illinoisians passing us up like dirty shirts.... I guess back then if they got a speeding ticket in WI it didn't show on their record so they just paid it and never paid the consiquences like we did. Used to tick my dad off. Plus they had newer faster cars.... We always had a station wagon filled to the brim and pulled a trailer...... I actually have the trailer here....covered metal trailer my dad made. We keep our garbage in it (sometims to long PU) so critters don't get into it... just an fyi to keep up my long post !!! lol

Anyway, we always referred to them as FIBS.... Fricken, Illinois, Aastards.... with a B....... Then I moved up here.... they are still referred as FIBS..... Fabulous Illinois Buyers !!!!

My niece and her husband live in Kenosha County and work in Illinois......They go where the money is.... they did live in Il for a while.... don't know how people can afford to live there, even if pay is a tiny bit better... just sayin.....
What I really hate is paying the tolls !!!!!!!! Last time I was in Chicago for two nights was a few years ago when the prosthetist needed someone to go with and learn new fitting techniques..... I spent the two nights on the streets hanging with the buggy horses.... Found a Walgreens and bought them some peppermint candies.
One driver took me for a drive...... Can't believe the way people drove around those horses.... Those horses were dead broke.... as in broken spirit !!!

You could see some of them were taken a lot better care of then others, depending on what company owned them. Sad..... Very mixed feeling about carriage rides in cities on that hard pavement.. Road founder is very painful.

Speaking of carriage rides, I had a dream last night that my team of spotted drafts were hooked up to my hay wagon and there was a run away !!! And my pony Geo was running around with a saddle on, bucking all over the place. Guess it's because they have all been out on pasture every evening and I keep asking ET if anyone had gotten out.... Ponies and donkeys know how to get out but the grass is so long in there they have no need too.

VickyW.... I agree..... it takes a while to get the name right... it has to fit their personality !!! Butt Dog (Buttons) came with the name Precious... the first night we had her she got into a container of buttons and had them scattered all over the floor.....

TO.... I just love poodles otherwise I don't really care what she is.... plus none of my poodles had the long poodle nose. My sisters miniature poodle has a real long nose (so does my sister and bil) and I always tease her about her poodles long nose.... Now I have one !!!! When I first got Dolly (the black and white poodle/bichon) that was my aunts dog it was weird seeing her long nose. It is alot wider then the new ones nose...... No I don't have a nose fettish or hangup, just used to small dogs with small noses..... plus have you looked at my nose???? I can relate to small noses !!! LOL

Anyway, New little girl slept in her pen until her first potty break early this morning... Then in bed with us. She is a snuggler and a licker.....how bout Lolli Pup !!! LOL
Sure would like to figure out what she is mixed with just out of curiosity. The hair over her shoulders is stiffer then the rest of the hair on her body. It is tinte a bit apricot like on her ears. The rest of her body hair is soft. Her tail is long and uncut and does not curl upwards like Butt Dogs or Dollys does a little bit.
And I am not the only one around here that needs to cut a few calories.... Butt Dog and Dolly have gained weight I think since the bash too. They have pot bellys now and the new little girl is a bit underweight.... wow, what a difference looking at them side by side... Young and thin and old a fat......

What I like about my little dogs is they'll sit and snuggle with you all day long !!! I keep asking her what her story is... She is very leary of the cats, wonder if she had a bad experience on the streets with them, I can hardly believe that she hasn't seen them living on the streets.
Thought about naming her Delta.... after the Delta Airlines that flew her here..

Ok, forgot what else I was going to say.....feeling like crap today. Startd Lasix water pill yesterday....Leg cramps already last night.... feel sorry for you guys who have two of them !!! lol
