I think Taffy can go back home to the in-laws. She needs her friends and she is almost completely back to normal.

Ok, this is NOT funny Mother Nature!!!



Whew!!!! I'm back! Ok, coop scooped, greenhouse watered, gardens watered thanks to hubby and his portable pump , all the waterers for the chickies changed (have them scattered so they are never far from one), ACC for now and electrolytes later, one chicken bottom washed and treated with nustock, fresh FF out, Oh and one large chickie pool filled. Yes people, when it gets hot chickens will play in water!

I am now going to get in front of the FAN and stay there!!!!

Poor birds..another day of torture. It was so hot yesterday I was surprised I did not find any dead birds. The new chicks do not seem to mind at all, but, I have a mamma who is crabby as all get out and pretty much ignores them Those chicks are all out of the fenced in area she is in and out doing there own thing. I guess it is time to take the fence down.


As hot as it is I still have cockerels catching young pullets and trying to breed. They do not have enough brains to know that pullet is not ready.
I might have to stick them dumb males in the bachelor pad in this heat

Well I finally broke down and butchered 3 of my annoying roosters. I skinned them as I don't eat with the skins anyhow when I buy chicken. Looks like we are having grilled chicken for supper. One of those nasty boys had my Cochin roo pinned to the ground this am breeding him, that was the last straw. It wasn't all that bad and im now not opposed to butchering!

Sometimes all it take is a good piss off day to make a decision to butcher. Skinning in this weather was a good decision. Might be a little early to eat them. They need a good day to soak. All fresh meat need to go threw a break down process to soften muscle tissue. It will still taste good but be a little..over textured.

JJ I tried your routine, didn't play, this gang sticks together. Maybe I need to try "bad cop" slapum up a bit, grillum under the lights, makeum sweat, wait that is already going on with this inferno we've had going the last few days

I do have some pigeon bobs that I got for trap nesting maybe I'll figure out how to use them on my nest boxes

had to work on some irrigation this morning think I cooked my brain, need to find a farmers hat

ran some errands, came home, heard an eagle,,,yup hidden high in one of my white pines,,,,not a bird insight,,,,scared it back to the lake where it belongs

Good Hot Miserable Morning to everyone !!!!!

I really should start paying attention to the weather man. Then maybe I would have gone to the laundry mat sooner !!!

We have to be in Wausau at 9:20 am tomorrow.... ET is seeing his cardiologist about the Loop recorder they put in his chest. The insurance is not paying for it and is saying that it isn't proven to work or whatever.... So now I said I don't feel comfortable with his heart rate going so low. I think he should have a pacemaker put in. To late if he just drops dead on me to have one put in. Looks like we'll have to eat out.... Hello Olive Garden !!!! Zuppa Suppa here I come !!

Then I see the endocrinologist at 2:15pm and the dietician at 3pm... Joy Joy.... I haven't followed a thing she said......... Ice Cream is just way to tempting in this weather. I do have to admit when I ate gluten free for 5 days I was feeling a bit better. That could also have been from not eating ice cream too !!!

Ok all of you young folks or even old folks that are computer savvy...... I want to make a movie with some pictures and videos of Addie's time up north here. Using Windows Movie Maker.
Now I need to download some music...... Don't have any idea what music would be best so I'm counting on you all for some suggestions and help in figuring out how to download some.
She likes the Disney Princess theme ??? I also want to make a video of her with her pony Geo.... Any good ideas for music for that one ??

ET is really ticking me off.... He is the reason I was up so late last night.... Probably after 4am before he came to bed. Now the animals are all screwed up. They will be in for a huge surprise when they get fed and watered at 5am tomorrow.

God, I don't want to go do laundry today...... Maybe will just do a few loads.......Then have to hit Menards and Aldis......Our CA is broken so sitting in front of the fan naked is getting old !!!

Might just have to sit in Porky's pool until mine gets here. Oh and Heather that is terrible.... finding drowned kittens in your pool... Barn kittens or not....... How Sad !!!

Butts and Dolly could use another shave..... Doggies.... not Pussy Cats !!!!! Had to laugh... years ago when I worked at ATT there was always a fun topic in the lunch room....... walked up to the table and they said topic of discussion was "Do you ?" Do I what ? "Shave.... down there !! "

good morning, good news.. we have babies.. this hatch is right on schedule.. and something weird, too.. the eggs dated 7/7 ; I took them out of the bator yesterday but didn't throw them into the garbage , yet.. this morning Annie was going to throw them out and decided to check one to see how far it developed.. it was ready to hatch,, and not only that,, it is still alive.. so that tray went into the hatcher.. there are 3 chicks in there now.. I must have had a mental glitch,, or else that power failure set them back 10 DAYS ?????

I have to check to see if the cluck survived last night with her 6 chicks.. couldn't find her at lock-up. I left the puppy out all night to protect her.. he is fun to watch when I turn him out.. he does a complete turn around the property and barks a lot.. I guess he is just letting everyone know he is on the job tonight.. when he barks at 2 AM, I just smile and go back to sleep.. he is doing his job..

Dora : the vet put her back on her pills for 4 days.. It really perked her up.. she is not sleeping as much and actually went to the door barking when somebody knocked.. this is a BIG improvement.. and she is not having much trouble climbing stairs anymore.. It will sure be nice when she is back to being her nuisance self again..

TerriO ,,by peeing on the stove,,, does that mean on top of the stove ?? YUCK !! I would throw all of the cats out just to make sure I got the right one..

we have been trying to catch an egg eater for quite a while.. we thought we had her a couple of times, but when we lock her up,, the eggs still are getting eaten.. I am thinking we might have more than one.. it is contagious, you know..
