Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hi--just a quick note before I am back off to work/I did get a horse ride in with DD21 though...we got back and that D@#$ Border Collie got into the back room, destroyed the top on the tank brooder(that I had reinforced) and ate my baby buttons! I am SO P!SSED right now that I could scream(or cry) I had just shoen them to a woman that came for eggs...they WERE really cute.

MMMM apple pie...I will be right over! (see below)
French, I am dreading the cost of tires for the Jetta..... and they need replacing this fall.

Cracking out the Apple Pie tonight! If any is leftover I will bring it along down to my cousin's house in a week.

Cuties, your Calls WILL leave if they can. They will stick around if they cannot fly, you keep an eye on them, and they cannot leave the fenced area..... at least that was how mine behaved......
The calls that I have do not go anywhere. They are totally free range now and do not have the wings clipped. I no longer lock them up at night cause they figured that out quickly! They usually stay in the barn, in a stall, so I try not to worry too much! They like to take a morning flight and circle the farm...then they land where I throw the corn.

I am 73 posts behind now...but I think I also skipped a BUNCH! I probably will not read back--I am sorry cause I really like to hear what people are doing day to day...
OK--I need to go to work for the night...got home at 3AM last night! Sheesh....

this is Ollie just after his overhaul, and before the sheet metal was put back on.. I have lots more pictures, but they are taking forever to load today..

Ollie is a 1955 Oliver 55 .. about 10 more HP than a Fjiord 8N ..

I built the front hydraulics for the loader and converted the trip bucket to hydraulic..

the loader was not mounted yet in this picture..

All of a sudden I've got cukes coming out of my ears! Up to my eyeballs in all kinds of squash. I'm starting to get peas and a few beans (only 4 plants survived to mature and one of them just got nibbled down to sticks). Still a LOT of green tomatoes and the poblano and habanero peppers are starting to pop. I should have planted more cabbage and eggplant as the surviving cabbage plants are looking good and the eggplant looks marvelous! In spite of the late planting, weeds and crazy weather the garden is not too shabby. Next year it's going to rock!

We are having some nice weather. Skeeders are still chewing me up in the garden, they chased me out.
this time of year it is the little ones with the stripes and they are fearless. very little hovering, they just attack.

Amazingly still no skeeters in the hen house with the vinegar/dishsoap jar in there. I added vinegar after cleaning out the coffee maker this week just to spruce it up.
