Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good morning! Had a young Mom and her 2yo son here picking mulberries again this morning. He LOVES them. He also had a ball eating pears off the tree and picking peapods too. I sent a huge bag of veggies home with them and she bought 2 doz eggs. Guess they dont have to grocery shop for much this week! I love garden time!
The Zucchini that I left on the vine to get a "little Bigger" sure did! They have got to be 8 pounds or so.

I guess I am making a stuffed one for dinner...then tomorrow it will be that zucchini lasagna I was telling you guys about where you use the planks of Zucchini instead of noodles. DD21 also picked a bunch of produce from her friends' place. She brought home a HUGE bunch of celery! There must be 5 plants all stuck together in this bunch! What am I going to do with all that celery? I guess I better head to Google....

I am hoping you are already done at the doc Frenchie! Prayers and hugs to you and the docs that they FINALLY find out what is wrong so you can get back to pseudo-normal!
Prayers to you too Clark...that swelling doesnt sound good at all...blood clots come to mind especially after surgery. I am glad you are heading in to get it looked at! It is true that sitting around with your feet down can swell them...but so can being up on them for hours at a time! Like someone else pointed out, I think you are guilty of the latter! Rest woman, rest!
Nice pics BTW!

Geez BigFam...you get all sentimental at work dontcha? YOu need to bring something along to do...take up needlework! Then you accomplish something too. I loved how you called Clark "all builder-y" totally cracked me up!
Cind--you are on a tough road lately! Didnt that sink plug up last year too? (or was that the toilet?) If the snake isnt long enough from the drain you could always go from underneath...if nothing else is plugged it might just get you the extra distance needed? Good luck!

I think this was part of the post I tried last night that self destructed. Sure wish I could remember what else I said!
So can anyone ID this plant? It blooms pink or white and has very shallow roots. It is perenial and also self seeds.

This one got out of order...the bouquet I picked last night that the cats spilled all over the floor this morning! I forgot to set it in the sink last night.

Here are the pod things that the seeds are in for the mystery plant. The lady I got it from didnt remember the name.

Guess I better water the critters. Then it's off to Menards for me...dog food time! Then to the mill for my weekly load of feed...I might have to stop at the grocery store too cause I am out of cheese and you cant have stuffed zucchini without that!

Have a good one! TerriO

I've grown these before but the name escapes me. They're definitely not snapdragons (what happened to the spelling sheriff today??) Here's what they look like:

I'm pretty sure they aren't oleander either.

Hi again! I found the flower name (I think) It might be an Angelonia--otherwise known as a "summer snapdragon!" THANKS JIM for the clue! When I Googled it and looked at plant ID that is what I cam up with. The images are similar but seem to have way more flowers than mine...but it is just a new plant. I will call the lady and see if that rings a bell with her. (called her...they got the seeds from Grandma and she didnt know what they were called either!)
Nice Afternoon To All...Nice to hear that everyone is fine.

I'm kinda on edge with my daughter being called to fight the newest wildfire in Northern California. She Is a GIS Specialist....an elite close knit team of folks that plot the fire and create the maps for the hot shots on the fire line. She has been a National Wildfire Fighter for years....I just don't like her in the danger of the fire, and having to travel by herself. My prayers are with her...she is so strong! The pay is great...prolly $70/hr plus all expenses paid.

For anyone that is young and strong, it's a great opportunity for real work and a future job. It takes a lot of training...but the adventure is almost unreal.

Peace....bigz
I pray she stays safe also BigZ! Is this Jen? I thought you might have more daughters...Jen works in the napkin factory? I am confused as always. Anyhow, sounds like a fantastic adventure! Maybe I can send my son? What is the title of what she does?
Nice to hear from you again too...look further on in this post for Buckeye pics!
On our way to River Valley Ranch! Great America was a zoo! It was bring a friend for free for the season pass holders..... WAY too many people and the waterpark was closed so a lot of hot STINKY people!

Gotta run, stopping to get water!
A waterpark that is CLOSED when there is a deal going on? That is just wrong! I can only imagine the stinkiness.
I got this in my email today...HMMM.

So here are some pics I took today (just cause I thought I should!)
Buck hen

Buck roo

other buck hen

She is one that likes to get into my lap if I am not careful!

Here is a Langshan from SMiller. Notice how small she is compared to the Buckeye! Same hatch date!

Another Langshan

THis is my new Buckeye (roo) I believe. I dont see any pullets...:(

13x9 quail...they all have dirt pans and mob them each morning when they are refreshed. In a few hours all of the eggs for the day are laid there too!

Aussie hen.

THis is Rick. He is Ron's son from last year. His other son (Richard) was sold earlier this spring. He will be my new Aussie roo for n

OK--dont know what happened to that pic...maybe I am typing too long?

Check out the spurs on Robin! They are better than 2" I believe. I observed him with a hen today and he doesnt spike them at all! I was amazed.

Here are Tommy's "babies." He takes such good care of them! Most of the cuckoo marans roos will be for sale because I still have the bunch that Cuties hatched for me! I have a crazy amount of them...but hey, they fit my color scheme! I need to keep the olive eggers to compete my experiment...and then they will be for sale too!

I do believe that my "selective' duck breeding experiment has worked! Here is a nest of 7 that are virtually identical! I wanted to breed for a white duck with a black cap, black back and white flights and underbelly. I think I did it! This has been a 5 year project. What should I make now?

...maybe here is the answer to the previous quarry? A featherless chicken? I have tow of these "beauties." THey are a cross of my blue Ams. What in the world happened? They were hatched at Cuties' place on June 4th. I have moved them into the house for additional warmth and nutrition...nothing has changed but they do seem to be growing now at least. WTH? Can someone enlighten me? BluexBlue=featherless?

ext year unless I obtain a better one!

LOL! Here is the rest of that picture and description...I am not going to mess with it...you are smart people after all!

Gotta cook--later! TErriO

I can't stay long,, I have the POL pullets locked out of their , (not there) coop.. I guess somebody wants me to point out all of the incorrect spelling ?? OK, I hope nobody gets their (not they're) nose out of joint.. I don't know (not no) why I am being singled out, but be on your (not you're) toes, then (not than)..

I might take the camera out to show you guineas on a stick..
