Hope its headed this way... But sure can use the heat we had today... I want BLT's nothing better than a vine ripened tomato on a BLT

We didn't get much rain, well 1/2 to 1/4 in. In five minutes. I was at football, so much fun.

But I also got my replacement chicks this morn. This time I got them with only two dead. Better than last time and there are no weak chicks!!! So excited. I guess when I called and told them that my polish died. They thought I had a bunch. Out of the group of 16, 9 were polish, two died though. Of the other 7 I have 3 breeds!!!! Very cool other ones, very different. Excited to see what they become.

Bumblefoot, is scary, I thought I had it, but it was just a chick with a piece of dirt that was like glued on and a sprained ankle, looked like bumblefoot, but a lot less swelling. Yes, BYC has a good thread on it, very good video with step by step if I remember right, well other brothers b day party.

BigZ batten down the hatches!!!!

Severe weather headed this way! So happy to be home! DH made burgers on the grill so I was able to have a homemade Whopper!

And of course at the very end I bit my cheek HARD in the back.... OUCH!

D&L69, we have met the majority of the members in person on this thread from our annual BASH weekend. If you can attend it I highly recommend you come!

Time to get off the laptop and continue to monitor the weather......

Yay! It worked :)

Clark, keep us posted. I hope this time you get a real doctor!
I saw this pic and thought someone snuck a shot of me sitting shirtless on front of my laptop.

A better question about who has met whom might be...

Who has met the most of us in person?

Well after 4 hours at the ER I know nothing more than I knew when I went in. I have Peripheral Edema, blood tests look normal and only thing they think it could be is caused by the surgery. Wear compression stockings and keep elevated which I had been doing since Monday when I seen the urgent care dr and it has done nothing. They said no aspirin in case I start bleeding from surgery site and to follow up with the ENT dr. The same dr that hasn't called to check on how I've been since surgery or to set up a post-op appt, and same office that told me they didn't deal with the swelling in the first place. And this is our medical care that is getting paid thousands to care for all of us Wisconsinites!

Didn't rain at all in town, but when I got home saw that it had but not enough to say it had.

Ok son 14 has come up with a plan and I told him I'd run it by the group to see if it's something worth while. He wants to sell his rabbits to purchase some chickens to start his own new breed(if it hasn't been done yet) "Lavenderahmas" (Lav Orp x Light Brahmas) He's going for the lav body color with the black points that brahmas have. I am so new to breeding that is it even possible to get the color that he wants? He loves Brahmas, but isn't overly fond of the colors they come in. This whole thing come about as he's sure he will win the Pullet Surprise and get an incubator, if not he's planning on saving his allowance and buying a cabinet. That boy sure has big plans. I'm trying to convince him to just take a breed and spending the money to get a nice small flock and selling chicks but why listen to mom.

I just realized yesterday that I have tons of jewelry that I make, why not take it to the swap/craft sale to try and sell. I usually spend most of my winters making it, usually to give to family and friends for xmas gifts or other holidays. This past year though while my daughter was working at the green house they let me have it for sale there until it was selling like hotcakes and they wanted to charge me 25% commission, well if I had know this before I started I could of priced it accordingly before I grew a quite large client base. I kept my prices low enough that I was making a small profit but paying for the product and was selling steady. I ended up pulling all my stock as I didn't want to increase the prices to accommodate her overly greedy boss. The worst part is when this happened I had been at the shop the past 2 days and seen her but she said nothing to me. She had another worker tell my daughter to tell me. Anyhow, long rant, just wanted to share my epiphany with everyone.

You guys OK ??? The storms were just really building when they hit here. Just minor hail and little wind. Lots of badly needed rain. Looks like anyone south and east were really going to get it!

looks like the rain is done for now.. there was an iron kettle sitting near the door and it has about an inch of water in it.. I was not home when it rained.. My corn is flattened .. the pepper plants look whipped , but not too damaged .. tomatoes non the worse for wear.. beans look happy to have that nice drink..

Dora was on the couch when I got home.. she doesn't like thunder.. I guess the 18 inches higher off the floor is safer ..

we did not get the bucket welded.. seems that the ground wire was not the problem.. the 220V breaker needs to be a higher amp.. I am going to put the bucket on my trailer and Chris will haul it to where he works to do the job..

Heather, I have 31 keets less than 3 days old,, 31 keets over a month.. then there are an uncounted few about 10 weeks old, and about 16 adult guineas.. between 80 and 85 total,

I have 6 roosters for sure,, about 30 barock teen chicks,, about 16 BO POL pullets, 9 two week old Delaware chicks..about 56 to 60 total chickens..

ratio is 3 guinea to 2 chickens..

no chicken eggs in the bator,,
about 100 guinea eggs; about 80 in the bator and about 20 under a guinea hen..

I just hate to see good eggs go to waste..
