Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I'm pretty sure I lost another 10lbs sweating today, besides not eating for nearly 2 weeks. Got the tack shed reorganized as when I have the boys put stuff in there they just throw it in the door way. Tons of room now. Fixed the folding table that needed some bolts as 2 of the rivets that hold one end of the legs up had broken out. Also fixed the portable canopy tent thingy(can't for the life of me remember the name of it at this time) wind had taken it at daughters graduation party last June and just parked it in tack shed. Cleaned out the "hobby" room where I mainly chill to get incubators started. I have 4 running at the moment. I had to go borrow 2 more as friend with the animal hoarding informed me I wasn't allowed on their property anymore and was originally suppose to use hers. One is a Hova-Bator with turner and other is a very old Brower(its a large galvanized and round) which I'll have to hand turn. I'm thinking I should look into a cabinet one in the future. The friends who borrowed me the bators have turkeys and I offered to incubate some eggs for them in this batch, so I have 7 eggs. I have to get more information on time, temps and humidity as I've never done turkey eggs before. I'm hoping to have the temps regulated within the next day or 2 so I can get the 60 ordered going. I'm having a problem with humidity though as my addition is not hooked up to the central air and with this heat it's holding about 84% humidity. Any suggestions on how to lower it? or should I wait to start after this heat settles down? I will make room in the house if I absolutely have to but I'm hoping to find a different solution.

Jim, I give a long thought about that cabinet hatcher, but it's nearly a 3 hr drive one way so I'll have to pass.

Jim, you seem like ypu jus had some happy grass.

Thank you for the turkey offer. We got home about an hour ago with the new ones. Three blue and one black. We all thought maybe the hen was bred by a wild turkey. I thought thatbwas so amazing! We got the oddball. After some research, I now realise blue turkeys can throw slate, self blue, and black. Imagine my disappoint.

Guess we should have read up before purchase lol
Oh well. Maybe we will use it in the breeding program. Hubby is hard at work building a turkey coop in the grainery. How do ypu spell that?

No , with my sick mind, I do not need any inducement .. However, before I die, I would like to take a puff or two.. I had the chance more than once,, but I was never with people I knew well enough that I could trust ..

granery grainery grainary granary the last one did not get underlined.. it looks the least correct to me..

If you are not using the air today, how much worse are you expecting ?? might as well take it out..

turkeys and most eggs all take 99.5F.. I give my turkey eggs 28 days, with a few days extra , just because.. 40% humidity is ok,, a little more doesn't hurt.. I like about 55% to 65% for when they are pipping..

is your humidity 84% without adding water ?? If so, then I would defineatly try a different hydrometer, Your humidity without water added should never be higher than the humidity in the room that the bator is in..

how long can you hold the eggs you have on hand ? the sooner you get turkey eggs into the bator, the better.. I never hold mine more than 3 days..

I am not putting this out there for debate.. If anyone does theirs differently, then do it.. this is just how I do my hatching.. right or wrong ..

Well, I have had a hell of a day so far. Woke up at 5:30 to a bee stinging me in the face, I must have rolled over on a wasp that was on my pillow. Then I decided to try to make tomato sauce, which is a first for me. I got hot pepper juice in my eyes, then when I used the mixer like I was told to do, I managed to get tomato flying all over my kitchen, so I just kind of gave up on that hope. At this point it's looking more like salsa than anything aha.

YIIIKES! I hope the rest of the day was MUCH better!

Jim, wanna take a road trip to Colorado? I hear you can trust everybody there

pretty sticky here this afternoon, ac is my friend

Jim the humidity in my room is 84%! Its like a sauna in here. It drops as the sun goes down but shoots right back up when the sun comes out, main problem it has a tin roof.

Check out this Wyondottes coloring .

I have a BUMPER crop of tomatoes!!

Small plum, several kinds of cherry, violet jasper, and Hawaiian current tomatoes galore! The larger, slicing tomato plants didn't make it, other than that I'm in tomato heaven.

On the other hand, I have few beans & peas and no corn or pumpkins. Anyone nearby want to make a trade?

I spent the afternoon peeling and freezing plum tomatoes but it doesn't seem like I'm getting ahead of it. As I was locking up the garden this evening I noticed the tomatoes I passed up as not quite ripe are now ready for picking already. The rain and sun are working their magic!

It is central air. I dont like to spend the electric $ lol and when it is on, everyone (self included) wants to sit on their ***** inside. I do not like that!!
Hearing everyone talking about garden work makes me happy we do not have one this year. The stand down the road is cheap, and has awesome food :)

Congratulations!!! Looks like I might have some finally this year too. Picked some nice big ones from the greenhouse this afternoon. My plum tomatoes are loaded but the fruit is still small but turning anyway. That's ok, I'll just be putting up a lot of chili starter.
