Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hey all.

I'm getting excited tpo bigz. Did you make a decision yet?

Got home from work a little bit ago. Two of bells( astraulorp previously pictured) babies came running to me. We knew something was wrong. A hawk got belle. She got her babies into the long grass. They are all ok. It is fenced there. She couldnt get in. I am heart broke. Just got done telling sydney. Belle was her baby. Im just sad.
Hawks are bad..I have lost 5 Orps so far. The neighbors are down to 4 chickens they lost almost 30. I have not had it this bad ever for hawks. We have about 10 of them hanging around for the free easy meals.

Nice name suggestion... but we went with Mason Richard (great grandpa on daddy's side for middle name.) He's nursing great, sleeping lots, and my mom is here taking care of things while I recuperate. I appreciate all the wishes, not much computer time though! Will try to catch up later.

x

How precious and beautiful you look

Had a hawk fly over last night about 14 feet from where I was working on the second coop. The Iowa Blues all sounded the alarm. Knock wood haven't lost any yet, but it's a continuous risk around here. That hawk was big, too. I could see it happily snacking on full grown chicken.

Speaking of baby's..you are about due for another one..lol

Heh, I wish, but nope, 2 is it for me. If I won the lottery or something, and didn't have to work so many hours, I'd have a houseful. :)

Just a little info for anyone attending the portage show. If you are interested in bantam chocolate wyandottes Dennis Fuller will meet you there with a pair. I'm picking up a pair from him in Mason City the weekend before Portage.

Amy you look absolutely beautiful, I loved my (almost) stress free homebirths. The one at the hospital was he!!.

Update on those starving horses, Fox 11 was out there today doing interviews, Great Lakes Equine vets have issued statements, Waupaca County Sheriff is going to make a statement tomorrow...... we really need to change the laws in this state concerning horses and their well-being, and set specifics for seizure. This round-robin approach is annoying and difficult on all parties. Did you know it was still a felony to steal a horse? Are you kidding me?

Spent the evening getting a few pics of the oldest DD for her Senior pics, and then off to the school board meeting.

Stirring up trouble once again!
