Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Wish I could say I wasn't ticked at my neighbor..........I've spent two days now checking my emails, replying to people trying to find homes for her horses......

Then she tells me she brought home a morgan driving horse that a friend GAVE her. It was an old ladies horse. I asked her why she didn't tell me about it. Said it looks like my Queen girl.
She told me what she would take for it two days ago. Then yesterday she said the amish guy who she sent it to to be evaluated told her yesterday that it is broke very well. Now she wants to bring it to the sale too. I asked if her friend knows she is bring this horse, which is a teenager. She said yes she does.
Ok, I don't need another horse like I need a hole in my head but a very well safe broke horse that drives I would do.
Anyway, she said she would call me today... Well the day is over and no call. It's not about the Morgan, I don't need it.... but it's the fact that she is so GD money greedy.... I have 3 people maybe 5 that are asking about her unbroken horses !!!! I've texted her and she replies to that but doesn't answer her phone.
I'm sure she doesn't want to tell me that she is bringing the morgan to the sale with the rest of them !!!
She said the other day, even if people would offer her $50.....just make an offer....
Well they can't do that if she doesn't reply to her email or answer her GD phone !!!
She paid $35 for coggins for each horse. She wants to get her money out of it.......
How DUCKING cheap can you get.
You are a backyard breeder for years when the market was good. You have tears in eyes when you say your mare gave you some nice babies...... as you make plans to send her to auction. NICE WAY TO REPAY THE MARE WHO STILL HAS A YEARLING SUCKLING..... TAKE A LONG TRIP TO MEXICO AND GET SLAUGHTERED AND MAYBE SEE YOUR FILLIES GO THROUGH THE LINE FIRST !!!!!
I am fuming can you tell. She said she has tried everything to sell them.... EXCEPT the internet but I was more then welcome to put them on there for her. All I asked was that she send me a list of their names, breeds, ages etc so I could personalize these horses and help them find homes.

NOPE she couldn't even do that !!!! So it looks like they will be going to the sale tomorrow.
I forwarded her all of the email conversations I've had with the people. Plus gave the people her name and number and email address. That's all I can do.
I'll tell you IT WOULD BE A COLD DAY IN H3LL IF I LET MY HUSBAND MAKE ME SELL MY ANIMALS. AND HE WOULDN'T BE GETTING BJ'S EVERY SUNDAY MORNING EITHER LIKE THE LUCKY NEIGHBOR GUY GETS !
Am I shouting... YES !!! and Thanks for listening. I don't know when I am ever if ever going to learn to quit being used by people !!!!
I sure wish I wasn't surrounded by Hill Billys !!! I guess she must think if she doesn't call me I will disappear ???? Until next time she wants to shed crockadile tears about her poor horses !!!

I had better quit while I'm ahead !!!

Hey, I wanna go to Midwest Horse Fair too !!!

Ah, Life!

Well, not much is happening here. We are making slow progress, but still progress, getting the kids into our new daily routine. It is amazing how much money can motivate a child. We give them an allowance weekly, but because problems have come up with regards to us adults having to micromanage (aka constantly remind) them in order to get things done...we have indicated that if they don't get in the shower on time or out of the shower in time, to bed on time and up on time, they have to pay us. It is working great. Now, we are only asking for $0.10 each occurrence, but it is more than they want to give away! I never knew my girls could successfully get in and out of the shower in less than 15 minutes!

On the positive side, they have all enjoyed having dedicated free time, when they get to choose the activity (play outside, electronics, TV, reading, etc) and also have been keeping the house cleaner, helping make meals, and cleaning the bathrooms.

And before anyone asks...no I won't tackle anyone else's kids with this routine! I'll gladly share the ideas, sources, etc...but you are on your own from there!

My dad is really enjoying playing with the chickens every day. He goes out to collect eggs, let the hens out, oogle over the babies, etc. He even took out the spent grains for them after we made beer.

Ok, now for the fun days ahead. ET and I are going down to Bonduel on Saturday for Founders Day. There are going to be Amish tours to a harness shop, Lark Store that sells tons of fresh fruit (joy joy lol) ET likes that. One of the stops is to a chicken farm. The guy said they have 11,000 chickens. He didn't know if they would be processing them that day !!!

I might have to stay out if that is going on.

I signed up for the 1pm tour so I can go to a different harness shop to look for a harness and cart for my little pony man. Then if I have time I'd like to stop by a few amish trainers and talk to them about bringing down my ponies for some training. I've heard good things about one of them. He is very gentle.
The one my neighbor goes to is very harsh. I would never do that to an animal even if I don't see it happen.
So at least I have something to look forward to for the weekend.
I was scouring CL last night looking for a horse for that nice guy who is a real newbie looking for a horse for his family. Ran across a pair of shire/percherons !!!! OMG.... big huge Spotted Draft brother and sister !!! Good thing I already have a pair or I'd have to get them too !!!! LOL just kidding !!!

That is so good to hear that he is fitting in. I'm sure he feels useful !!! Give him a hug for me !!!

I sure miss my Dad. If he lived with me I would have a pole barn, a working tractor, new chicken coops and my animals would be even more spoiled...

hmmmm, hit the control button and my type changed .... ?????

X2. I got a pair of cowboy boots for $12 at the 4-H sale. I'd have to bring baby with though.
And this would be a problem why??? You probably wouldnt even get a chance to hold him unless he had to be fed! And of course you can come too Frenchie! The more the merrier. Maybe I will even go this year. It was very odd not going last year...havent missed it since my daughter was 5 or so...and she is 21 now!

Cuties, I can sell you all the lav orp hatching eggs you want. Just let me know.

Heather, how are your chicks doing? Your Moose baby, Hershey baby & the barred lav? Does she still have the barring? A pic sure would be nice. Did you ever find out where your eggs were going? I'll bet they're hiding them on you. I had a drop in production a month or 2 back. I found them in a huge community nest behind one of the doors inside the coop. Stupid chickens..............

Dan, that deer stand comment was too hilarious! And true! I think I've seen a couple of those on our way up nort.

Not much else new here. Think I better hit the hay earlier tonight. Lots to do tomorrow. Sweet dreams, all!

Hey all

Bbp and momgill, I am so sorry. I lost a couple birds this week too:':)':)'( I do not know if the hawk returned or if the husky got over here while I was gone
The chickies are very angry with me. They are on lockdown until scott is back home. He agreed to set up 4 trail cameras and I am buying more stronger fencing. If I find it is her, I am going to go insane. I dont even know how to make it so she can not get in here. My own dogs obey the fence. I think I might run a very extremely hot wire across the entire property. But what if the chickies get zapped? What if it doesn't work? I feel helpless. I am gone all day. She rarely comes I when we are here. But when I walk the fence each day, I see plenty of bent areas. I have no solid proof.
Have any of you dealt with this situation? I have not confronted them yet. I was hoping it wouldn't have got to this. She has chased them in front of us. But the chesse would not allow it. So idk... they are not the type of people that will make a good effort to keep her home more. She's been almost run over many tes. They do nothing about that... I will set the cameras and wait for evidence. We couldnt even catch her if we wanted. She ru s fast immediately.
