Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Rberry, it is quite the trip! Isn't it? It is neat to read it all put together lime that :)

I wish I hadn't of dewormed. Still no worms when I cleaned today. And one of the chicks is not feeling well. Just does not seem right. Of coarse it is the one that was almost all white. And the one Blake chose first. I have it locked seperate. Gave yogurt garlic pepper mix. Added electrolytes. And put acv in the water. Heres to hoping.

And it is sooo hard pitching these!!

Think I could at least feed them to the dogs?

for over dosing and giving worm meds when not needed the first thing that happens is dehydration. Kidney failure and heart attack. You can only do electrolytes so good job.

Cind - I googled piebald deer and found the picture, actually there is something on SNOPES about it. The deer wasn't taken in WI as the picture said but Texas... Yeah Wisconsin / Texas easy to confuse the two???

Wazine... so how do I mix this for my 7 hens? just make a one gallon mixture and give it to them for one day? How long do we wait before we eat the eggs and then I have to do some secondary treatment?

Big question I have an Americana she is probably 7 months old and has been laying regularly for almost 3-4 weeks 3-5 eggs a week all of a sudden 8 days have passed and no blue eggs? The others she is with Barred Rock and Java are continuing to lay, but as my flock was devastated with Infectious Bronchitis last April and the state poultry vets assured me the virus was not viable after 4 weeks I am skeered

Anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks del.

Momgill, I just mixed according to directions. It says not to butcher untill 14 days after treatment. But nothing about eggs. I am pitching for the two weeks.

Del, if I feed eggs back to chickies, will they get more wazine and od? Will eggs now work as dewormer in dogs? :p

Momgill, also I was gona type, I have a 6month old that was laying a green every day! Then stopped. I assumed she had found a nest area in the yard. But they have been lockdown because of husky. Still no egg! I also am baffled!

Btw, chickies were out all day. All good!!!! Kept the chesse out too!

New breed for lgd

Jj, keep up the work on that yellow dog!!

We were talking about planting apple trees on here awhile back and I suggested wolf river as a pie apple. Our wolf river trees had fruit this year and here is how big they are:

and the yeller dawg is still behaving.

I have been busy for awhile making stuff out if my Wolf River apples. Some were massive! Some more average, but I still have a ways to go to get them preserved.

Good evening! Found out I did not get the job...I guess I didnt ask enough questions?

MGille--I wouldnt worry about the Ameraucanas...They seen to be very seasonal layers! The daylight is getting too short for birds to lay now and if you dont provide supplemental light they will taper off and quit by the time there are 10 hours of daylight. (I think we are right about 12 now...slightly less) You are lucky (in my opinion) to get an AM to start laying in the first summer! I had to wait until the following spring for mine.

Great job on those Wolf River Apples! Looks like your DD is having a great time snacking on it! I have always wanted to have apple trees and we did plant them at our last house...never did get to harvest one though! We had a really OLD apple tree there too. They were so good. I guess I just dont like apples enough to do all the work for them. Seems pairs are much easier! No bugs!

Cuties--I dont think the worming would have made your bird sick. I always feed the eggs back to the birds. You should see them! They just wait for me to pick them up...I toss them against the wall so they shatter and the birds just mob them! I have eaten them on occasion too...still alive!

BTW--the ones I decided to worm that did dump a few worms did not include any that you hatched for me. I saw one clump in the pen where Tommy is living with the cuckoo marans...for all I know it was him!

Well--lots to read yet...nighties! TerriO
