Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

We had a kid here in town who was an Eagle Scout, on the football team, a slightly odd duck...... he killed a substitute teacher and bragged about it at school. Unfortunately no one took his claims seriously for months....... finally the police gathered enough information to put him away thanks to the girlfriend telling the police where they could find the keepsakes from the kill in the boy's room. His parents are well liked members of the community and had no idea.

CS, I hope you get those rabbits an underground fence!

Amy, we all had a good time! More people?! Where on earth would they have gone?! We needed a bigger room! ;)

Big accident over here, made the news! I think everyone lived but the highway was closed for hours!

BigZ, I know nothing about chickens but those look beautiful!!!

Not much else to report! Enjoying my freedom!!!!!!!

Sunny Afternoon To Everyone....I think your neighbor kid is beyond help frenchie...he belongs behind bars....

Nice Packer win yesterday..thanks for cheering TO!

Thanks for the nice words about the trio. I kinda like my 3 amigos. They are nice birds for sure.

I wonder what the neighbor down the road has growing in his fields. It is as green as can be, only prolly 10 or 12 inches tall and looks like some of the leaves in my fall salad mix...I've never seen it before around here for sure....I'll stop and find out for sure....hasta be a green that will be fed fresh to the cows I'm thinkin. Prolly 40 acres or more of the stuff.

Wish we coulda made it to julies fund raiser at the Bar. We tried but it just didn't work out. Hope someone can share a few details. She has been to every bigzio bash and I wanted to be a show for her gulldarnit. I wish her nothing but the Best!

Say Safe...bigz
x2 on all the above sentiments. The kid is a whack job, and is bordering on dangerous. It is only a matter of time with him. Awesome game! Your 3 amigos are beautiful, Bigz. And I really wish we could have attended Julie's benefit also. I am glad it turned out well, and I also wish Julie all the best and a speedy recovery. She is truly a wonderful person.

cs, now that they have tasted freedom, they will keep trying harder to escape. I laid metal fencing down on the ground inside my coop, both to keep the bunnies in and to keep varmints out. It has held up very well over the years. I always keep a thick layer of wood chips on top of it. Rabbits are rabbits, and they are going to dig, no matter what you do. Especially at this time of the year. Instinct tells them to dig a burrow to keep warm in over the winter. Get them a couple of straw or hay bales to take their aggressions out on. They also dig (and chew on things) out of boredom.

Yesterday DH & I were working out in the barn. I was about to head up to the house when I saw something out of the corner of my eye. It was the biggest darn hawk I had ever seen, sitting up in one of our trees watching the chickens. The bass turd was scoping out my free rangers: a lame hen, a mom and her 2 chicks. Luckily the mom must have seen him & warned, because all 4 of them were safely under the tractor But boy, was he a monster. He could have easily taken out any one of my birds. I think I know how he got so big too. I used to have a yardful of wild rabbits. I counted at least 11 one evening, but I haven't seen any lately.

CC, tell him to come up here for rabbits, I will gladly show him where they live! Darn things are everywhere here, eating all my flowers and such.... they are really thick so a hawk or two would eat quite well!

Hi all!

CC.... I thought all your birds were in protected areas. Guess those 4 don't go out now.

Well, lost one of the BLRW roos. It was found dead at the bottom of the ramp, along with a bunch of turkey feathers. The turkeys seem fine. Didn't inspect the roo to well because it was getting dark. There was a bunch of his smaller feathers pulled though. Don't know when or how it happen, I was gone all afternoon, found it when I went to do night chores.

That's about it.... geeze, more people better start coming on, it's getting lonely

I hate to say it , but you need a fox.

We had a couple, and no rabbits. One morning our dog came home with a kit and now we have no fox, and the rabbits are breeding like, well, rabbits.

Happy belated bday del!
Teri, congrats on the new dog ;-)
Cs, yes I had to move mine in for the winter already. Digging has begun. A little wire sill take care of it for you. I also give ours untreated wood to chew on. And of coarse the treats. Although, Blake's mini rex doesn't seem so mini... she will s oon get a diet.
Frenchy, something needs to be done about that boy. Imagine what a mind it must take to enjoy the suffering of animals. He needs to be locked away. I am saying a prayer for your animals.
Cc, I hope that hawk moves on quickly. Ours still scopes. I worry every day.
Cind, seems lime your turkey had so.ething to do with your roo :'( percilla has been picking on blackie. We tie her legs. She gets about 4" of string. Enough to scratch and hopefully get to cover. But not enough to be agile enough to kill him. Idk what else to do other then send her to the sheep farm! So far it has worked.
Same ol here :-D enjoying the animals and not the ot!!

Have the pup in a class. He is a good boy. Definitely has the energy I was lookng for!!

The hawks are terrible this year..I lost another bird this morning. I was outside too..picked that silkie right up and off it went. It was one of the silkies I got from Connie. ..You are going to be short a silkie cutie.

Thank you all for the BD wishes..
