Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Fernie, glad you and your DH are ok! Ouch!

Jim, DH is replacing the U-joints on the Jeep asap. Both the front ones are shot. He has been messing with the electrical issues for a while now, trying to pinpoint the issue but so far he has not been 100% successful.

Beautiful day today! Looking forward to WARM!!! (Well, warmer anyway......)
I am surprised they haven't fixed that U joint problem yet.. what happens is if you turn the steering wheel as far as it will go, the U joints bind.. and break.. you have to learn to not cramp the steering wheel.. If you turn it all the way, then back it off a little before you start to move..

My Mechanic friend found this Blazer for us.. He has been doing the maintenance on it all along..
He says it is a honey ..
I found out the main reason he doesn't want to do the tranny in mine is that his grunt mechanic quit.. that means that he would have to do the actual work.. that ain't happening ..

We bought a brand new Toyota Tundra in 2008. We didn't keep it long because my husband hated the traction control. He almost got into an accident at a busy intersection once because of it.
I don't like any machine where I don't have the option to make that sort of decision.
I don't even like the "preset" incubators they came out with ..

Hi to the Newbies, and welcome back Jim!

Yes, the weather outside looks really nice already, although we did have a frozen mud ground again this morning. Which is great if you actually wanna walk...
So I'm looking really forward to this weeks warm temps, especially the 61 we're supposed to get on Wednesday!! Woohoo!

A bunny chewed through the plastic fencing and one of our curious duckies (our Khaki Brownie) decided to head out alone, since everyone else is too big to fit through that hole. Lol. They were quite upset that they could see her walk around and they were still caged up! Now I'm just really contemplating on selling on of my Rouen drakes. He won't leave our special girl alone and jumps her every time she turns around. I think we might be better off without him, since we would still have 2 more drakes for the girls... wondering if I should put him on CL...

and for how much? He is a sweetheart and comes to you, eating right out of your hand when giving him treats. Just not really liking him being so pushy on our special girl... Keep on getting 3 duck eggs a day, and 2 - 4 chicken eggs. We are sooo good on eggs right now...! Lol.

Our eggs in the bator keep growing strong. The chickens go on Lockdown tomorrow and then I can put our new batch of Ancona duck eggs into the big one. Right now they're "exiled" in the brooder bator due to no room. We ordered a dozen and she sent up 19!!! Didn't even hope for that many and were simply not prepared. But am looking forward to seeing lots of spots in about a month. And hopefully the Sebbie egg will grow and hatch just fine too. Gonna candle it tonight although it's still a bit early, but wanna see veins!

Question to those that have also ducklings and other birds:
when first hatched, do you give them sugar water or electrolytes or water with honey/corn syrup? I heard that is supposed to be good for them but have no clue on how much and if I should really do that. Would that also be good for chicks?

Wanted to ask something else but SO came in and wanted me to look at some pics of our birds he had taken. So here I will share some... for your viewing pleasure!

Nice to read ya Jim.
Welcome to the newbies!!!!
Now if Terri would pop in.....
I am worried about the hatch going now. I keep staring into that tiny window! Hubby is busy boiling the sap.
Clark, congrats on the hatch! How many are you up to?
I know somebody else was doing a hatch now too. Hows that one going?
4 BLRW, 1 SS, 2 EE and theirs a bym still waiting to hatch. The BLRW I dropped did end up dying, totally expected. After this last egg hatches I can sit tight until Friday when my next batch is due to hatch. I'll get some photos later now that they are all fuzzy and running around.

Sunday after the Badgers loss to all...dang, so close,eh!

Sorry to hear about your Uncle Jim...May he RIP.

Glad you are safe Fernie...vehicles can always be replaced.

Thanks for all the pics you guys share...fun to view them all. Good thing no one died in the fire Cind.

Saw a yote go past the coops yesterday. I wasen't fast enough to grab the rife...maybe next time he comes through on his stroll.

I really need to sell my black bibbed call drake and my "snowy" hen. She's more of a mixed color hen. But I don't want to put forth the effort it takes to make sure they find a good home. So, I guess they'll stay here.

Just for fun.....

I know some of you are interested in the ground rabbit cat food. I mixed up the 2lbs of ground rabbit with a vitamin supplement just for cats that has a lot of herbs and B Vit in it, extra Taurine, Fish oil, Vit E, water, and some lovely home grown chicken eggs from LMiller. I mixed all this together and then froze it in 1/4 c portions, so I have quite a bit for my trial run.

Spice is eating the raw food to an extent, she is still eating canned as well. Grover is being a complete snot and refusing to eat anything BUT dry cats food..... the kittens are gung-ho to finish off whatever the geriatric crowd refuses to consume, so I have been feeding them their own dish along with their kitten chow and canned kitten food. I figure instead of completely having them go cold turkey on what they are accustomed to, I will gradually wean them off the processed foods and continue to leave the rabbit as an option.

I want to get my bike out so I better get going.....
