Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Happy Easter everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pancakes and bacon for breakfast here!

It would be really nice if we did not get too much rain today...... 13 people in one house is a little much when the kids cannot get outside.

Almost finished with cup #2, time to get moving and make the brownies.....

Happy Bunny Day

Today and tomorrow shall be for cleaning the house throughly... carpets need cleaning, windows and other not washed or eiped areas need attention. The rain shall be keeping us in except to go tend the animals.

I think dinner will be devilled eggs, biscuits, ham, beans from last year's garden and roasted garlic buttered potatoes. Need to find my biscuit recipe....

Happy Easter from our neck of the woods too!

After a really foggy morning it finally cleared up and we got sunshine and clear blue skies! Now just hoping it will actually get as warm as they predicted instead of 10 degrees less. That way I can maybe get my SO's son out of the house and off the TV for a bit, have him walk his very hyper dog and maybe calm him down some...

Plus, just maybe, I won't have to deal with a 24yr old sitting in front of the TV all day long, reading and listening to music on YouTube all day long at the same time...

Other than that, the ducklings are doing fine, figured out how to take the lid off the watering tub I made for them and keep running up and down the length of the big tub they're in. We handle them at least once a day to hopefully keep them a little more tame than our other duckies, although they eat out of our hands. Just would be nice for one to come up to you for a quick petting every now and then... But even if they only would feed out of our hands we'd be oki with them. After all, we wanna breed the bunch. Lol

The first pheasant eggs in the bator look good, coming out for hatching end of this week. So we might have little pheasant chicks soon! Excited to see what we got, since we got mixed Juvies in one big pen so it's kinda hard to tell who exactly the egg came from.

So I'm just gonna enjoy the warm weather and sunshine for a change til the next week of rain sets in tomorrow... and get some stuff done outside in the pens, maybe even try to finish one of the pens in progress... we shall see...

I have my 30 yr old brother living with me and all he does is sleep, eat, complain and make a mess. Just need to figure out a way to get him moving and doing. He did ask my husband to drive him 2 hours ( one way ) to a card shop and was upset when we said no. Any suggestions to get him moving?

I just started up one incubator.. got it all stabilized and put 96 eggs in..
these eggs belong to one of my Hmong girlfriends..
they have it figured out amongst themselves that they bring me eggs, 3 days apart.. so that none of each others are hatching at the same time..

I am keeping a close watch on the temp and hum%..

the hum is up to 40% already,, the temp will hover around 97*F for awhile and then work its way up to 99*F in about an hour or less..

my room temp was 67*F.. that should rise from the heat loss of the bator, too..

when I have all 3 bators going the room gets up to around 80*F..

I got all the guineas back into their leanto pen.. It went much easier than I thought it would..

I found them way across the plowed field, next to the woods.. with the "help" from Gus, we herded them back home.. Gus helped by not running through them and scattering them..

I feel for you... I let my brother move in with my family, along with his wife and daughter, for a "3 month" stay, until he found a job and could move out. 18 months later he finally moved out. Out of the whole time, gave me $50 to help out with things... would buy crab legs for his family cause they were on sale and he couldn't pass up the sale. I could go on and on, but I won't.

I didn't learn from this... when he asked to move in again so he could take a new job... I let him, but I wouldn't let him bring his wife and daughter.. they had to stay put. I figured if I let them all move in, they would still be with me. It did take him 2 years to get out the second time. He would travel each weekend to be with his family.

I think I have learned... I hope!!

So, I would not be the one to give you advice!!

Yea. There is something very true about most guys (not all of them, Jim!) never growing up and enjoying the lazy life while others work to take care of them also PLUS their own family! Pisses me off every time...

At least I got him outside and he is fixing my fuel leak. Hopefully. Since he's a mechanic he should be able to do it. Then he brought out his stereo right next to the ducklings I set into the sunshine and cranked the dang thing up. Right next to the ducklings! Common sense anyone?! Grrrr...

Quote: Worse part is we brought him here from PA cause he was going to be homeless. His job cut him down to 10 hours a week due to Obamacare rules. They cut off his health insurance and everything else a few months back and have slowly cutting anybody over 18 yrs of age down in hours. The underage teens with working papers work 20 to 25 hours a week each. The salaried adults are worked 60 or more a week......The family that was near him are too self absorbed to care about anybody but themselves.

My brother is in the kitchen right now scrubbing it and supervising the kids doing their chores. He chased me into here to relax.

So what I want to know is which one of you snuck over here and told him I was complaining LOL And no he is not a member of BYC.
