Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

My broody attacked me for the first time today when I was trying to give her and her babies food :-( That was not a happy experience.

Yesterday I had to bring one of my other ladies in because the feather eater struck again and DH decided to remove her from the coop for a bit to heal.

My craft room is full of chickens now.

The weather can get nice any time now.

Hi all,
Tired of being cold but I suppose it could be worse. Count my blessings, right? At least I don't have snow! (Apologies to those who do)
Been busy running the mom taxi around, heading into Madison in a bit to take DS7 to get a couple baby teeth pulled. Permanent are in behind them and haven't been loose really. His first two had to come out the same way, but thankfully we were able to pull the top ones on our own here at home.
Not much to report on the chickens. Betty is still wearing her apron and I haven't tried again to get one on Roxie.
I can hardly believe I have only one week before my baby chicks come in! I hope I have good luck with ratios, I ordered both breeds straight run (5 EE's, 5 Colomb.Wyan).

Gonna go before I run out of time. It goes fast when I'm online!
Have a g'day

Hello everybody, including the Newbies!

Well last night SO put Chevy and his little friend under the heat lamp on a tub right at eye level with our dogs. Then he went outside to smoke. Anyone guess what happened?!? Yes! She ate them! He came back inside, the bucket on the floor, one ducky head still there, the rest gone of both of them. I could SCREAM!!! I had TOLD him to NOT do that and leave the dogs unsupervised!!! But no, now we lost Chevy.... (Crying smiley here)

As I got back a bit earlier 3 eggs were externally pipped in the bator again. Then about 20 min ago one fuzzy was there, not 5 min later another! :D I'm keeping dogs AND SO away from there now though. Might have to tie him down though...

Was snow on the ground this morning but it mostly melted away but on the hills. It was dry til about an hour ago, now it's raining again. Don't you just love this weather? Gotta go outside and take a pic of our "pond" growing into a lake in a few. Alright, hasta luego amigos!

WildSam, there would be some serious arse kicking at this house if that happened!!!! Perhaps something of his should have an irreplaceable "accident". Grrrrr.......... I am so sorry.

I think that is a bit drastic, though ..

No Sunshine Day Here....sure could use a little dose of gold from the sky...what do you think?

Really pleased with the Buckeyes improving. The year old birds are laying nice size and nice quality eggs...something 4 years ago needed improvement....still working on other things that I won't mention....but....it's a blast seeing things improve, and glad I started working with the critical breed.
It's kina a special thing for me....

There was a strange glowing ball of fire in the sky briefly this evening.......... and then it went back into hibernation.

Jim, you can get by with a missing finger or two, it is the thumb that is the big deal. Lose that and you get a toe transplant.

Youngest DD had her braces taken off this morning, and then promptly had some ice cream.

It is so nice to see her teeth again.

Otherwise, it is pretty boring around here.
