This is how I did mine Jim.

I have a GF white cake in the oven right now....... if it is really good it may make an appearance at the Bash.....

What a beautiful day! Time to fire up the grill!
that is a good way to go..
but I am not building an incubator,, I was repairing a brooder hood..

I just got home from the Chinese buffet when a truck pulled in.. It was the guy who wants me to hatch some turkey eggs for him.. He just got back from Waupaca.. he brought 105 bronze turkey eggs ... a place called Heritage Turkeys ?? He guessed they had 150 hens..

the chicks seem to be doing well in the brooder pen.. there are at least 4 more from that hatch in the hatcher now..

baby chickens are spastic .. not at all like guineas .. quails are my favorite,, they can hatch and run immediately ..

Wonderful warm evening everyone!

Now that the sun is setting and the skeeters and deer flies start harassing me, the duck condos almost done (at least the rough build without final roofing material on) and the ducks all pooped out and cleaned inside again, I can call it a day.... I hope.

4 pheasies hatched from this weeks batch, but OMG I almost forgot how NOISY those lil buggers are! He don't hear em cause they are so high pitched, but they sure drive me from one sleepless night to the next headache all over again! Time to move em over to his brother, who has the other hatched ones ;)

Chickens are doing fine and they finally figured out that there is a roost in the gazebo after our new white girl Whitney started being up there. So it increased meanwhile to 4 roosting and the ones outta luck are window decorations. Lol. Just too FYI my when you look up and you can only see 4 chicken butts wiggling at you! :D

Nothing else really new besides that the voices of the ducklings start coming in now and you can slowly start telling who is fe/male. That's it for tonite, so enjoy these nice summer evenings for now. Ttyl

Jim, Scott saw the ad for that turkey place. And really liked them. I think he might even be considering selling hos slates to get into them.
Cc, sorry about your kitty.
Kendra, sounds loke a good day :)
The hatch is very slow here today. Normally they always start early. Maybe I was off a day. They are moving along now.
My BLRW are growing very nicely. I hope I can sell off the ones I do not plan to breed in the fall. I get nervous about having too many!
Beautiful day for sure. Hubby worked al day :( and is now mowing.
Enjoy your weekend!

wow I was over a hundred posts behind..I did not read them all..

CC sorry about the kitty

for shipped chicks they normally call

That cuckoo should be a female..not a male.her mother is a Cuckoo and father is solid..Cuckoo chicks should all be females
..for sexing..post some pictures of those Orpingtons..if you think they are all males..and the Cuckoo is a female they might all be females.

Kendra..thank you for bringing Theo..Cookie had such a great time..she slept most of the day..

Great weekend to everyone!!

hello again,,

somehow I managed to get all 105 turkey eggs into two of my metal trays,, If I had one more egg, I could not have fit it in anywhere..

I moved a few trays from bator #1 to bator #2 did some fancy combining of eggs and stacking.

right now I could not fit even a fart into either bator..

I did manage to break one of the duck eggs.. as long as it was broken, I checked for fertility.. nada.. so no great loss on that one..

tomorrow I am going to toss the non hatched eggs of Pangs.. then I will modify those two trays so the chicks won't be able to escape to the lower levels..

right now I feel like I have a spotted cow coming to me.. I think I earned it..

David, what day did your chicks arrive ?

I think I will have Annie give the new pup a bath.. that way she (pup)
won't get mad at me . If she enjoys her bath, then I will give her next one..

she is getting over her whining.. she sure adapted to coming into the house fast.. she thinks she has to be wherever I am .. I'm surprised she didn't jump into the shower with me,, (still talking about the pup)..

If they are all dumb enough to fall for this scam, there is nothing you can do about it. Sort of the whole 'Can lead a horse to water but can't make them drink." thing. Handing our somebody else's bank account information could land her in jail herself if any money was stolen from that account since she was party to the crime.

BTW your friend will most likely have their account cleaned out by Monday, and he will have a difficult time stopping it since the banks are closed Monday. He would be smart to contact the police now, and as soon as you have the information let the police know as well.

I know this is not what you want to hear but in this situation they can only help themselves.

I watched Dr Phil one day last week and he had a woman on his show who was being scammed. He really had to PILE up all the evidence before she finally believed him. Thought she was engaged to be married to a scammer she sent more than $50K to because "the US military stranded him at a hotel" and a lot of other unbelievable bull puckie. It's hard to believe how they get pulled in and then get hooked so well that it takes evidence and Dr Phil to pull them back to reality. I feel so bad for women who are so lonely they'll believe whatever they're told.

Hi All!

Making good progress on the Green Goop! I think I got all the water simmered out and I'm waiting for it to cool for the first straining. I should be able to finish it off after Game of Thrones

Miss Broody seems to be quite content now and very much "in the zone".

Night All!

So much has happened in the last couple of weeks.... Love the pictures from Italy.... Sorry about the cat, even though she has had a wonderfully long life, hard to say good-bye... Raspberry you need to loan out the hubby after he is done, however I am thinking he is the kind of man that is never done with projects, much like Jim. Jim so glad you are doing well and the new puppy sure is sweet, surprised at how you are tracking all these eggs and everything, thinking this is how you relax, makes me tired. My broody is still sitting on her 7 turkey eggs do I candle them? It is approx day 10 right now. Also when they hatch I know to give them game food, will the momma hen do alright with that too? Not sure how to handle to two food requirements. Thanks for any input... Much to do outside today. Got the garden in and looking forward to putting more perennials in, I am one of those who also has room for one more plant! Enjoy the day and all your families and friends today!

That sound just like her. She won't believe me when I tell her that she doesn't have to pay for someone to love or care about her. For cripes sake she's basically in love with her computer as she's never met him. Only photos he shows her but I tell her I can pull any photo off the net and make it look like my stories are real if I really want to. You are right though she is that lonely and it's very sad.

I just checked and so far 1 SS has hatched out of the latest in lock down. I spent all of yesterday framing the new pole shed that will be attached to the barn. Got one rafter up and I said I'm done. I'm so sun burnt I can barely move besides the billion mosquito bites I have on my body. Even in the sun they are attacking me in swarms. It will end up being 18x32 and after I tear the wall off the barn will be another 10 foot so 28x32 will be a nice sized garage. I'm putting posts and beams at 9 foot so hopefully this won't be bothered by any WIS snows we get thrown at us. I'll have to call the insurance co on Tuesday to have them come out and see just what of my "personal property" is covered if any. It will add up quick as just going thru my Dr Marten shoes alone I'm over a grand and the girls prom dresses. Their clothes are only Hollister and Aero, nothing but the best for them. My slide in electric cook stove ended up with the glass surface smashed and a custom window I had for the house that was over $500 also got broke, my spendy 3 seat yard swing was holding up the roof and got destroyed. I was told they like to push you around but when they come back I guess I'll just have to push back at them.

Hope everyone is having a great Memorial weekend!
