Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Am enjoying a couple of days of "city" life before heading back to all my beloved critters and the black clouds of mosquitoes. Not looking forward to it at all...

Did I mention yet that they are HORRIBLE this year? A woman even said that nothing seems to help to keep the blood suckers away. No spray or other home made tricks. Gotta try horse spray on my dogs at least since they really don't like staying in the house with the nice weather, but have sores from the bites and chews or skeeters, flies and ticks. Just really bad this year. And I thought that the long winter/cold would have killed at least SOME of them?!? But then the flooding and all the standing water... Urgh!

The Stuff that is not Deet I forget the name it starts with a P workes well for them up here you get one or two bites versus the billion without.

Pyrethrin?
I think that is it. Of course I am running around the house looking for the bottle and can't find it. We got it at Walmart. Only place around that had anything. Deep Woods I think it said on the bottle. my husband got 1 with Deet, 1 with Essential oils and 1 with the word I can't recall. Pyrethin sounds about right.

I have the memory of a gnat most days. Today i think if my head was not secured to my had I would forget where I put that too.

RBerry, I wanted to let you know that I was the lucky winner of your sachets and towels. I had to wash the quilt for our bed last night (thank you cats) and dried it with one of your sachets. Lovely! I highly recommend the fellow Cheeseheads check out how they can get one themselves!

It sure is quiet on here today, everyone must be gardening.

So glad you liked the sachets. Because of very sensitive skin, I've used lavender sachets rather than fabric softener and dryer sheets for years. Currently they're being sold at Cluck the Chicken Store in Paoli and when I attend art and craft fairs. I plan to have an e-store on our web site by fall. We just launched the website in March and it's been taking a while getting into the whole blogging bit.

As far as gardening . . . I'd sure like to be. Mother Nature has not made it easy, just enough rain to keep things wet. I may be able to get some plants in - gonna give it a try anyway.

We have four chicks so far from Cindy's ten eggs :) being our very first incubation, I'm exited to have any babies!! Four eggs left in that incubator. One chick drying, two in a brooder, and one under the Silkie broody. She accepted the chick without blinking an eye :)! It'll be starting day 22 @ 6pm for this set of eggs. Hope we get something out of the last four eggs. One looked runny, the other three looked good imo but I didn't see movement.

My sister has 20 eggs from Vicki in a Brinsea 20 that are on day 17, I believe. Day 18 starting tomorrow morning. I think I'm going to bring over the Styrofoam incubator and put her eggs in there to lockdown / hatch.

My doctor has bee's and he was telling me the best book he's read is "Bee Keeping for Dummies" ! Not so sure that is a good sign but it might be a good book to check out at the library or buy online ???

Anyone know where to get essential oils at the best price ? And I'm looking for that FB page that had the recipe for making mosquito bait. It had yeast in it. And the recipe for Epsom salt and vinegar to kill weeds. Geez, impossible to find things on FB. Speaking of FB wish BYC had a like button ! I keep wanting to hit it !
Btw I found some Avon Skin So Soft. 16.9 oz bottle for $6.99 normally $13. J P Liquidators in Antigo. As cheap as a dealer gets it !! It's coming in tomorrow....TG I need to make some quick. Need to go get some spray bottles today. Mosquitos carried me down to the mailbox yesterday... had to walk home !!

I use Young Living essential oils, I joined as a distributor for the cheaper prices. Before those, I did buy some peppermint and eucalyptus from GNC.
Try using Google images for recipes, you might recognize the picture to make searching faster lol.
