D@mn I hate this freezing sh!t! The only things I want frozen are things in my freezer! I feel for you up northers! Snow with these temps ....

Thanks Delish for the input on Bert. I think he turned out pretty nice. His lacing is real nice, very even too.

Well weatherman said this snow could stay on the ground til Spring ! I do miss the 4 seasons down in SE WI. Suppose to get down to 4 degrees tonight.
Hope car starts tomorrow. I am volunteering at the spay clinic in Crandon. Nothing stops those gals. Rain, sleet, snow or cold !

I've been driving my Ford truck lately because the 4 wheel drive is so nice when trying to get out of our uphill driveway. But I realized the other day that it's probably not going to start when it gets super cold. I need to see if I can plug it in. It's a Northland Edition, so it would only make sense, right? I really wish it got more than 10 mpg. I would sell my car and get something different in the spring. But I run around the twin cities quite a bit this time of year and I cannot afford to spend all of that gas money.

The plug should be laying right in front on the top of the bumper at the bottom of the grill.

Nothing new here...time to go sit in the woods...

TO- I don't know what happened to it really. He had been intermittently limping around on it and then not. Then Ryan was walking him and the leash wrapped around his foot and Theo plopped down and has been consistently limping since.

Dummy me, forgot to withhold his food last night and had to reschedule his appointment for next Thursday.

Great information..I have a peppermint tonic I use for a worm preventative. I think I will pick the rest of the peppermint and see if I can get the hens to eat more of it. They don't really like it.

good morning,

went to bed early, (for me) and slept all the way to 6 AM ..

going to have to make a big push to get the plucker done by next Saturday,, that is my goal..

BigZ, this plucker is not for me .. I am building it for someone else..

anyhow, I am thinking of some meaties next spring..
I will give Sunnyside another shot.. last time they wouldn't take an order from anybody who had dial up computer service.. IDK what that was all about.. they probably had trouble with a couple of dial up customers ,, therefore ALL dial up people are BAD ,,,
I don't have dial up anymore.. I don't want to be BAD ....

I left the heater on in the shop overnight,, I hope it made a difference..

ETA: I just came down here and noticed that my morning post did not go.. so I sent it now.

I worked on the plucker quite a bit today.. the small heater in making it comfortable enough to work without gloves on,, although, the floor needs to warm up a lot more,,

there was an old man ice fishing on Lake Wausau,, only about 1 inch of ice.. he is 82 years old,, I wonder how he made it that long ????

I went an practiced bowling with a couple of old timers.. I did pretty good,, tried a different approach,, It worked.. bowled a 137 and a 158 .. not too bad for a blind guy, eh ?

I am scheduled to sub for the next two Mondays ..

seems that I lost a goose in the past day or two.. I have a hunch that Frankie "played" a bit rough with it in the snow..

Maybe Theo has ingrown dew claws.. Dora had to be trimmed about twice a year..

Good evening! BigZ I h/ope you got one today! Getting pretty chilly to be sitting still in the woods for sure! Do you hunt in the gun season too? We have 35 pounds in a 5 gal pail fermenting away. It will be slightly pink--we included 2 red heads from the CSA and a small red from my Dad's garden...that will be fun. I am surprised how much easier it was to cut the red cabbage. THe leaves are not nearly as tightly packed on them!

That was an interesting article CInd...I may try drying some of my vast amounts of peppermint next year. Too bad it is all frozen already...but maybe I can still harvest some? My egg production has jumped substantially in the last few weeks. All but those darn Blue AMs are refeathered and laying up a storm. I just got a few nice dark eggs from the new Marans bunch. THe second Generation OE's have started laying too but are still at pullet stage and not very reliable as yet. I guess I need to put up my ad again!

Just had to stop another dog fight! GGRRRR! This pit is going to be the death of me (or one of my dogs) He had Mattie by the side of the head again...she was just laying under the table. We got them apart and then DH rewarded him by letting him go up to the bedroom.

I think I am going to contact Jrs and see if I can get him into a Pit rescue. We really cant deal with this too much longer!

OK--I am going to get another beverage and see if I can find something for dinner...have a good night!

Hi All!

Yea, I thought that article was quite interesting. I think I'll be adding it too, doesn't sound like it takes much.

TerriO.... I think if you could get it dry real fast it may be OK. I would hang it somewhere warm and dry, preferably with a fan. But a cloth under and see if it drips. If it does it's too far gone. If it doesn't it will catch any falling leaves.

11:30pm I went to let Rudy out and heard a pack of coyotes! They had something they were happy about! I went and checked the coop.... they were OK. The trapper never did catch one here, maybe I should invite him back!

Can't think of anything more (but I think there was)..... Night All!
