Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

good morning,
first cuppa is done,,

I worked in the shop until 11:3o PM last night,, I am putting way too much time into this project..
I think I have the sprocket and chain problem about worked out ..Mentally, at least,, we will give it the physical fix this morning,, see how that goes..

for you egg producers.. maybe cut back or cut out scratch treats to your laying flocks.. I never fed by layers scratch,, only gave them laying ration ..

Cind, did you use venison in your chili ? NO ? I think I know what is missing..

any soup can be perked up with about 4 tablespoons of vinegar .. do you put sugar in your chili ?
I use brown sugar,, and a dash of Lea and Perrins Worchester .. garlic and onion.. ho made pureed tomatoes. a dash of Tobasco sometimes celery and or carrots chopped really fine .. lots of chili powder .. now you made me hungry for chili,, thanks alot ...

gotta have Ritz or Town House crackers with cheese spread with the chili.. for a special treat, put a little honey on the cheese spread..

...........jiminwisc...........

ETA: WOW !! over 9 1/2 hours and not a word from anyone..

this springlike weather must have drawn everybody outside ..

I did not hear a single rifle shot today.. Annie said she heard just one...

Opening Day To All.... finally back on line. My puter had a virus and I needed to take it in for fixing. I have Norton 360, but it still got in....$65 later at the fix it shop and I'm back in business.

Managed to bag a nice 2 1/2 year old eight point at around 10....my bro shot a dandy 8 that made it into the neighbors....we tracked it where it fell down twice and was less than 200 yards across the line where they had atag on it....they were less than good hunters.....they had the stupid deer brain that some hunters get....we were glad it was tagged and not lost.

Badgers pulled off another win....hope the Pack can spank the Queens tomorrow.

If it is raining tomorrow...I'll be boning out deer. My freezer is gonna be happy for sure.

First off, you get an Atta Boy for your success..
Second, you sure have some fine neighbors .. It is not hunger that makes people do that sort of thing,, it is strictly greed .. If they are hungry, then they should not be hunting,, they should be looking for a job to make money to buy their meat.. much less expensive ..

BigZ, I have to agree with Jim. Your neighbors are schmucks for tagging a deer they did not shoot.

As far as I know everyone was skunked out at the in-laws. My oldest DD and her BF found a nice 8 pointer that had died out in the woods. Too bad, it has a very nice spread.

Jinx keeping trying to hunt the Budgies. It is pretty cute, they entertain her all day long and get their exercise in the process.

Not much else going on here. :D

What kind of weirdo tags someone elses deer? I can see them not wanting it to go to waste, but apparently they didn't even try to find who shot it, so the proper person could tag it. I think my husband would totally flip out if someone did that. I remember one time he shot a buck (10 pt, I think) it ran off and his went right by his dad. His dad shot it again. Then his dad tagged it! The shot Jon took would have been enough to kill it. It was a strange situation.

Thanks BL4, I'm going to see if there's a behaviorist in the area, if not I'll definitely call the rescue. He seems to do better with a lot of activity in the house. There are a lot of hunters here this weekend but things will quiet down tomorrow...we'll see what happens when he starts feeling alone again. I wanted that spaniel of yours so bad but just couldn't put my old dog through that in his last couple months. He's gone now so that's why I'm keeping this one.

Jim, I think the bark and e collars have their place but this dog is having the equivalent of panic attacks. You wouldn't shock a person having a panic attack would you? He also does some naughty barking...like at the door when he wants to come in. The e collar might work well for that.

Congrats on the buck BigZ!
We have one neighbor just like yours and our property borders state land so have had the same problems. One of the guys here lost a buck yesterday too. I started shooting a magnum almost twenty years ago because I just don't like conflict...haven't lost a deer or bear with it yet!

BBP it's just greed. The bigger the rack the worse it is. A few years ago a guy shot a big buck on public land and it ran onto the neighbors place where they shot it again. I could hear him yelling 'It's mine! It's mine! It's on OUR property!!' ...Just crazy. The guy who originally shot it just walked away, nothing else he could do.

Rain or shine the coops are getting cleaned today and I want to be done by kickoff! Better get moving.

Hi All!

Looks like I forgot to post last night.

BBP.... Yea, I don't remember any pet we went and got on purpose. Well, we did get a mate for my daughter's guinea pig, but that's all I can think of.

BigZ....Glad you got your buck... too bad about your bro's.

Bye for now.

Packer Sunday Win to you all.... Thanks again for all the kind words and th congrats....yep, he found out how bad you can feel for taking a deer you didn't shoot....now if he remembers?
Hope you other hunters, can bag a nice eater. A lot of standing corn around here...patience on the edges is key for success...don't leave a minute early before closing. I know you know, just sayin.

How about that Lion loss...

Success out in the woods today for my oldest son, he shot a nice 7 pointer around 8 am. Apparently my DH was out of the loop with the butchering plans (of course), BUT with the assistance of the boyfriend we managed to get the whole deer skinned and quartered up and in coolers in about 2 1/2 hours. Sometime tomorrow I will get it all off the bone, and package up everything that I do not want to grind. Tuesday will be grinding day!

The dogs are really enjoying the fresh venison smell!
