Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Chilly morning everyone. And a Happy New Year from my side to everyone here as well!

Didn't do much just hang out with my neighbors at my apartment, having jambalaya, Jell-O shots and some spiked hot cocoa and cookies. Blasted some oldies but goodies and went to bed around 1.30am.

Went back north yesterday, coming to find out that the water pump was froze up, therefore (again) no running water in the house. And the house a mess too, as I was foolish (or smart?) enough to leave two guys alone for some 3 days.

Luckily I had an escape plan... Going on a road trip with sclark to pick up a couple of birds for our blue swede Joey (any ideas for a more Swedish name for him and 2 girls are welcome!) and then on to Merrill to get the Iowa blues for her coop. Then back the backroads in freezing cold winds and snow blows.

Luckily the water is running again in the house, SO is back at work today, the brat cutting firewood before he will take off OTR again tomorrow. So a bit of quiet and relaxation with some duck cuddle sessions in between. Guess I'm gonna make sure the water is still good (got a balmy -2 out there right now!) and see how the new girls settle in. Later all!

Happy New Year all!

It is a bit warmer here at the border, but it'll be down below zero this coming week. Chickens, rabbits, and Theo are all doing well, but I'll be adding the heat lamp in the coop Sunday. I normally don't have one out there, but I cave when the temps fall below zero for more than a day.

For New Year's eve dinner we had lobster tail and scampi, potatoes, and brussels sprouts, we watched A Fault in our Stars and Divergent (we wanted to see why our girls liked it so much), and went to friends the next day to play Eurorails.

bl4-I've got some eggs for you if you are down this way.

Well, we've re-rearranged the house as both of our girls have moved out to their "grass-is-greener" parents house's. So we combined them into the smallest room, we gave Ryan back his original room, and we have our dining room back. It is emotionally hard for Nathan & I to have the girls gone, but the amount of drama and toxicity has been eliminated from the house, so I guess that's the bonus!

Other than that, I only have a this weekend remaining for vacation and then back to construction at work.

Gotta get moving again, bbl.

Mabel and Ethel.... Had a great time with Sammie(wildsam) lastnight on our road trip. The Iowa Blues are all settled in already and layed an egg sometime overnight. Also the BRLW coop finally give me their first egg but was cracked. The rest should start laying anytime then.(egg on left BLRW on right is Iowa Blue)

Nothing new here!

Nice Afternoon To Everyone....decided today would be a good day to run to the feed mill. I was happy to see the layer @ $8.75 per 50lbs.....good and fresh too!

FFF tonight will be cod loins baked to perfection with ho-made fries and ho-made cole slaw from our cabbage and carrots.

Christmas here tomorrow....over eating will be the main event here I'm thinkin. Prolly a beverage of choice a few times also.

Nothing new here...DD28 took me for a pedicure for my birthday so my feet feel and look great. THe temps sure were nice mid day....now getting chillier but I guess nothing compared to what is in store for us. I hate gathering frozen eggs!

Have a great night! Time to make the next layer for the jello! TerriOjustacookingfooltoday

Prime Rib sounds wonderful....and a couple snobby brews for wash...perfection!

Suzie is a cooking fool today too...waiting for the pumpkin pie to finish, before we make supper tonight....more to do yet for tomorrows meal after supper...tis the season for sure.

Yummy, prime rib! I have a kick butt method for cooking such a glorious cut of meat...... as soon as I possibly can, I am going to make one here.

Some of the items slated for replacement this year are the washer and dryer. Both are 22 years old and on their last legs. The dryer motor is slowly dying on us, and although DH can fix it I am so tired of worrying about when they are going to give out completely. The other issue I have discovered is the thermostat on my oven is acting up; probably why the cakes I have been baking lately have taken so long to bake ( resulting in slightly dry cakes). So here is hoping 2015 gets me a job.

Looking forward to school starting again on Monday!!!!
