Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Haven't posted but been lingering in the background reading. So glad it wasn't worse Cindy, I worry so much about us burning wood but I mainly have to to keep the addition warm for all the chicks and incubators running.

I got some duck eggs from Sammie just before Xmas and some at Xmas. Just had 6/6 hatch over the weekend. 6 more to start hatching on the 19th. Not bad to have a 100% hatch. I have tons of eggs in the bator right now with many different breeds. I ordered a bunch of hatching eggs from 2 different sellers. They did come awesomely packaged and all aircells in tact, so that was a great feeling. Now I'm just worried about them being fertile as I accidentally broke one while inspecting my package at the USPS yesterday morning(this package they lost for 2 days and finally came) I have set BLRW Bantam, Chocolate Wyandotte Bantams, Buff Brahma Bantams, German Line New Hampshires. I also will be getting BBS English Orps and Swedish Flower Hen eggs in 2 weeks also. I had to order more BLRW Bantams as the chicks I purchased a few months ago that I was told were 10 pullets and a cock turned out to be 9 cocks and 2 pullets, quite disappointing to say the least.

Here are some photos:

Only 2 Swedish Flower hens left

New Duckies from Sammie

A few of the SS F2's

German New Hampshires and the Snowflake Bobwhite Quail eggs

Eggs from my neighbor who got spring chicks from me, can't wait to see how these hatch out. All are crossed with a EE Roo

Buff Brahma Bantam and Chocolate Wyandotte Bantam eggs

BLRW Bantam and Chocolate Bantam eggs

Didn't take any updated photos of the BLRW Bantams and the WW but will sometime later and share. Both of the WW are pullets which is great other than the one has a single comb.

Kildare, I am trying to remember what you got. The 2???? Were they out of the oe? I joined that thread. One other informed me they had brown colored eggs from one. I originally thought that when you bred back the oe you were getting a darker shade egg. Which does happen. But since the hen is not just blue/green egg gene carrier that means you get some olive and some brown. I had no clue! I would not be able to replacenthe chicks with oe. Because we decided when we got Thunder that we had to cut back a little on the flock. So chose a few breeds to get rid of. But I would gladly send another breed your way.or even partially refund. I mistakenly advertised as oe. And should have done better research before hand!!
well, it is a bit warmer here. Feels very good to have a weekend off. We had zero plans. And the house and barn were both already spick and span :) we have been just hanging together ogether. It is so nice!
Miss, how was the interview?
Bbp, did you ever figure what happened to your hen?
Congrats on the puppy sale Jim!

Playoff Packer Sunday to everyone....hoping for a win a Lambeau today...would love to then beat Seattle at home.

Time to go listen to the hype....GO PACK!

Were all good Cuties. Yes they were out of the oe's. They are my most consistent layers. Very independent ( low maintenance ) which I like a lot.
Two of them are oe's....similar egg color to what Terri posted. They have not layed since the cold spell hit......I believe. These 2 tend to use nest boxes as a last resort.

The interview was just an interview. I am beyond caring about them any longer. If I get the job great, if not there is always another.

Out shopping at the Mall with my girls..... I need a shot after this!!!!

How about that nail biter win....dang!

bigz
they do it that way every time,,
I will withhold my thoughts on the delay of game call..
I will just say this ..
I have no tolerance for personal fowls ..
by the time a guy gets into the big leagues, he should know enough to NOT throw the ball in a direction opposite that of an official .. OK, the guy was happy, but like Lombardi said, act like you have been there before..
