Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Nice Winter Afternoon to all.... it sure beats the brutal weather we have all been stuck with.

We still have our real Christmas tree up...I kinda like the lights on while watching the tv in the evening. For a white spruce, it is holding the needles pretty good.

No cable here...so we couldn't watch the big game. I'm glad the big10 made a lot of folks eat crow!Prolly get outside tomorrow to swing the saw some. The exercise always makes one feel better.

Nothing much new here otherwise. Gonna have bear farmer sausage with eggs and raw fries tonight for supper. I'm hungry for breakfast for supper....ho-made bread with ho-made raspberry jelly toast.

Stay Safe...bigz

good afternoon,
I had to put the charger on the truck again,, it only took a short time, but I am not sure why the battery gets weak so fast .. I was going to go get some gas in the cans, but I am leary about the truck not starting at the gas pumps..
Tomorrow I have to take the truck for my Dr appt,, I will get gas then,, going to toss some jumper cables in the back seat,, just in case..

Funny how well we acclimate to this cold weather,, 4 above and I am working on the truck with no gloves on and no cap..

I couldn't agree more. Kathy has helped me through just about every illness I've come across so far and I've learned a tremendous amount of information from her. Lady is a saint.

The newest arrivals :) these will be (hopefully) some fair babies.
Better late than never!

Hi All!

Congrats on the hatch!

We had Breakfast for supper Mon. Eggs w/ spinach and mushrooms, hash browns and bacon. It was so good! The concept of cretin things for breakfast, lunch and dinner has only been a thing for a little over a hundred years. No reason to categorize food so much. Fruit pie was also part of a meal, not just desert.

Nothing new.... night all!

Quote: It all depends when..I usually have Orpingtons ...I will be doing some hatching first. I am trying now, but this is the first time I am not getting the eggs in time. I have two dozen eggs in the bator and I think they are all damaged from the cold.

Cs, I must have missed your original post. I am sorry to hear ypur news.
Del, you need to break down and get the heated waterers. It is worth it! Go with the plastic like suggested on here. I bought the tall ones with the bunny money this year. At first we had a ceramic tile between the waterer and base. But the top of the tall ones was freezing. So we removed the tile and they are GREAT!
Irish, I will have some chicks. Pm if you like. Or get to me when you are ready

Jim, glad you are feeling better! !
I broke down and picked up 4 heated waters. It was getting rediculas. I am getting to old to change waters 5 times a day.

I have 6 silkies eggs that are developing and the only reason why is one of the hens is broody and always in the nest box so they did not freeze. The rest of the eggs have nothing going on so far. I do have a few eggs that are good on days I caught still warm and fresh layed. Keep warm everyone..and Yvonne..glad you are ok..

sorry everyone about lost birds, dead birds..its a hard winter..
Knock on wood, all are good here so far.
