Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I don't know how much fightin' over old fart balls there would be, there generally beat up and wore out, even their bags are stretched out pretty bad.

Really Cind?

Haven't we had enough about deflated balls in the national media the last 2 weeks?

good morning,,
I can't find it right now, but there was a recent post of someone looking for hybrid eggs ?
I can safely state that nobody on chz heads has any,,
eggs from hebrid chickens will not produce a hybrid chicken,,

as of right now, you have to buy the chicks from a hatchery who has the hybrid stock..
OR get some hybrids from a swap..

I think the guy in Custer has hybrid chicks and sometimes POL chickens for sale..

my chores are all done,, I think I will work in the shop tuning up my jointer today,,

I haven't vaccinated for anything, but I do deworm mine every 6 months now.  I use safeguard liquid wormer for goats.

The predators I see the most here are hawks, racoons, and coyotes.  Though I have seen the occasional fox.

I have a heat lamp hooked up to turn on around 20 degrees.  I'm looking in to the heat panels for next year. Most people say they don't it's just a preference of mine I suppose.

Fish sleep...with one eye open...maybe.

Today the sky is not blue...but a rather boring shade of gray.

What brought you from AZ to WI?  Most people would want to do the opposite :)

LOL! Thanks for the info. Lots more critters than we have back home. Will be a learning experience for sure.

I am happy to be out of AZ. I lived in Phoenix; too big, too crowded, too much crime, traffic and pollution. And did I mention the 115+ summers? I am country girl stuck in a city girl's body! Green Acres is the place to be... :). So looking forward to Spring.

I have not had issues with diseases or worm, pests...so I don't treat.

I agree with all stated already for chicken killers.

I heat the water once temps dip below freezing and heat the coop if temps go below zero. I only have one lamp available instead of heating the entire coop.

Fish sleep in the freezer!

The sky is blue because it isn't any other color.

Tough day at work. Had to move a bunch of fridge, freezers, flammable cabinets, etc. Tomorrow is box unpacking. Five days left to get the building & labs functional.

I never treated either. Guess I will just monitor and see how it goes. Eggs in the bator now, then chicks in the basement until it is warmer outside. I won't worry about heating this year. I will have plenty of time to run electric to the hen house before next winter.

I had worms here, I now have Marek's :hit A rare (for around here) Bobcat got 2 of my turkeys and a cat. :barnie I heat the water and have an oil (radiator type) heater for when it's single digit or less temps, but it's only on hot enough to give them a warm spot if they need it.

Bobcat? Didn't know they had em here. Is it legal to shoot them?
