Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Gorgeous Day here today...yep, thoughts sent zeek's way all the time here on the hill! The closer it gets to tree planting, the more he is hangin around here in my thoughts and prayers...life loving person for sure.

The weber is ready for burgers on the grill tonight, with grilled onions and toasted buns!

The flocks are enjoying the weather for sure today. They are just singing all day today.

My damnnear 5 year old thinks every day is a good pancake day. I swear she is a hobbit in that she eats 7 meals a day and snacks. When she steps on our Wii fit pedestal, it says her BMI is like 9 and makes her Mii (Wii avatar) even skinnier.

TO- cute pups . where are they headed?

Sad news indeed about Zeke. His sudden end will effect all around him to be more careful in dangerous situations.

Does anyone here have line on some Frizzle eggs for incubating around the last week of April.

I have created a monster over to the primary school. 4 years ago I started bringing my little Brinsea incubator and some hatching eggs to the school for my son's 4K class to watch hatch, and then a 50 gallon aquarium for them to live in for a few weeks to watch them grow and change, which grew into a rolling cabinet for the tank and a daily what the chick in the egg looks like on each day of incubation.

The 4K teacher was a chicken owner, but only white Leghorns. I brought Blue/ black/ splash Cochin the first year and she took them all(5)home after school year was over. every year she falls in love with the variety and colors I bring.

This year she has graduated to choosing what she wants to take home and has asked IF I can find Frizzles.

I would not bother trying for most people, but this woman is Amazing at what she does, and everyone in my family really likes her.

I am willing to travel and pay to get the eggs she wants.

Wish I could meet up with everyone in Fondy! Will be in Chi-town this weekend for a wedding. :(

Jinx sure has decided I am her person. They say Manx cats are one owner cats, and she certainly is! Little stinker was snuggled up to me all day.

Made shaved ribeye steak sandwiches tonight on homemade sourdough buns. Had sautéed shrooms and onions to go on the sandwiches, and made veggies a tater tots to round things out. Yum, yum, yum!!!!

Tis the season! Time to start watching tornado shows!!!!

Beautiful weather we're having here, isn't it?
Havent been round this forum since... Jeepers.. I think Since August when My laptop went down! Well then. We had our first hatch of Easter Eggers (first ever Chickens to hatch on the farm) Hatched under a broody OEGB in november. Of course that was only 5 birds. But I think i'm hooked. Mom has us signed up to go to the Testing Seminar in april so Hopefully we can start testing and get involved with NPIP. I transferred from Saint Norberts to UW Stevens Point where I'm majoring in Urban Forestry now, as opposed to accounting. Anywho, over spring break will be at the Fondulac Swap, looking mainly for a pair of Wheaten Old Engilsh Game Bantams, and a BB Red OEGB Cockerel. We got one last year but he didn't make it. Eventually I will get this down.

I was thinking about Zeke today,, whenever I take the "southern" route home from town I think of him,, there is a place where he used to park his rig and I would pick him up to go to lunch,,
I didn't know him very long, but he sure made a little space in my life brighter ..

Amen to that! I was just emptying out some old email the other day and came across his - don't have the heart to delete them just yet.

Hi All!

After 2 days of a wet right foot, I have decided I need new mud/muck boots! I'd patch it, but I can't seem to find the hole.

The eggs are getting more every few days!
