Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Ummmm............. how are you going to get rid of your birds if you aren't going to get them tested? I'm not trying to be rude; I'm just saying you might have a problem there.

I do think you would be better off selling your birds via CL rather than a once yearly swap though. Some people may not be able to make it to a swap on a specific date. Keep reposting your ad every week & you should do fine. And if you don't want them coming to your house, offer to meet them somewhere. I sold some roosters last fall for $5 and one gal drove almost 2 hours for one of them.

Yeah, I drove all the way to you to get my Lav orps!
Can you live trap the Weasel/Coon using the dead roo as bait? Then, the SSS method works great I hear.

Coonhoundmomma87 Howdie neighbor! They don't come any souther or centraler in WI than me.

NPIP is no big deal to become certified. The drive was harder than the class. We have found on this thread that the testing serum can be shared to reduce cost, and you could get to know some of peeps from here by sight instead of typing style, or trolling tendencies.

Fingers cramping from all this typing.

Coonhound- I am also a southern neighbor, but I am so far south that I've crossed the WI/IL border!

anonymity is good, but after you come to the bash, you will see that this is a bunch of people that you don't have to be afraid of.. there might be a couple that you might want to tippy toe around, but they are harmless, mostly ..
Coonhound-I can definitely understand wanting to keep a bit of a safety barrier. You might find, as I did, that this group becomes a family not only an online forum. We start forming friendships online, have met in person at our camping "bash"/swaps/etc, and we have gathered for meals/laughter, and are a HUGE support group for all things poultry and beyond! We understand you wanting to maintain your privacy and completely understand, but when you want to met up we'll welcome you with open arms!

early afternoon, haven't been on in awhile- just not enough time in the day(week) to stay current. The past month has been crazy for us to say the least. We added a few new critters as part of 4-H projects for the kids- our 2 French Angora does kindled on Feb 12th- both ended up with 5 kits each and they are doing great! We also added 3 Nigerian Dwarf does- 2 confirmed bred and the 3rd exposed. The first doe to kid had a buckling on Feb 18th 2015. The next doe is due the week after Easter and the 3rd the end of June.

Planning to tap our maple trees today as the weather is right for collecting.

Enjoy the nice weather ahead!

We tapped ours yesterday and it is definitely flowing!
good sunday morning
BM55 is that pig wire ?

If someone made one like that, he could cover it with plastic and have a nice green house..
I would put a door at each end, just to add to the stability ..

nice day brewing outside, IDK how I am going to spend it..

Hi FT Sandi,,

Yes we have 3 puppies left.. they were born on Thanksgiving day ..

.......jiminwisc..........
Jim-each time you say you have pups still, it pulls a huge string in my heart. Theo would love to have a female companion.

Hello Everybody. What a nice weekend weather wise. Glad we got to snowmobile the Rock river from Koshkonong Lake to Watertown for a few days before it started to thaw. Saw a few juvenile Bald eagles along with their parents. Came across three dead chickens on the river. Didn't stop to inspect but was curious if they were killed by a predator or if some folks threw them on the river in hopes of the Eagles stopping to feed.
Speaking of predators, this guy was in my run helping himself to the feed. I just looked out and there he was, not five feet from some hens. He had it made , for a short cpl days.

I saw a Fischer once. While hunting in Amery. Black, long tail, and fast. Couldn't snap a pic. Along with this guy, who was a tad slower than the Fischer.

I had the pleasure of meeting TerriO this weekend. Picked up some eggs from her and her pretty birds. Here they are in my diy bator. Cheers for a good hatch. Thank you again Terri O.

Take care. Ang

Welcome Ang
Does everyone have their maple trees tapped? Looks like the sugaring season is only gonna last a week. This week
Mine are tapped...I hope we get more that this week. What do you know that I don't?

Another wonderful day in Wisconsin...nice post chickenscratch, I'm happy and glad to feel the same way towards a bunch of folks here on this thread as friends. Might be something said that ruffles a feather or two...but that's what happens among good friends at times....to realize that is what this is, and move on, is what this is all about. Tis the season to forgive and forget.

The grill is ready for smoked wieners, brats, and a sirloin steak. I always overeat if the food is off the grill. Prolly don't need a fried potato..but I'm gonna have one anyway.
