Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

good afternoon,

what a morning.. took Ollie and cleaned up PILES of dog poo.. buried it in the compost pile,

then I back bladed the driveway real good.. drove off to the side at the road end of the driveway and got stuck in the mud.. frost is going out for sure,,

hauled a bucket of branches back to the burn pile..

then somewhere in all of that, the end of Gus's chain snapped off and he was GONE when I got back to the house.. of course Frankie was with him,, I drove around the neighborhood for a mile in every direction,, eventually they came back home,, I don't know from which direction ..

I gave each puppy a leash lesson.. one on one,, They never cease to amaze me.. within a hundred feet they had it figured out to stop when they hit the end of the leash..after a few hundred feet, there was no pull on the leash at all.. I spent only about 15 minutes with each pup.. the next time it should go easier yet.

I will be going to the shop and mounting the end boards onto the saw sled..

going to haul the two male pups to Bruce's Crossing, UP.. on Friday,, bro Dave is going along.. we both enjoy these road trips together.. we talk about old times.. same conversation every time, but we are senile enough so that it doesn't matter..

Goodie for brother friendship like that Jim....I also have a bro that tolerates me enough to spend quality time together...life spent with friends and loved ones is as good as it can get. I even learned to get along when it's painful to do so, with family members that should and need direction.

My brinsea is running spot on the mark....now it's up to fertile eggs to make this hatch happen.

I wish I had about 3 extra coops to really get er done...not to mention, a extra brooder or 3.

Frenchie, I have the small Octagon 20 Advance, with the turner...it's only good to go for 24 hen eggs, but it seems to be a good unit with constant good results..it does have stupid plastic everywhere, but does not stop it from working well. I guess with your money (LOL) I would opt for the advance humidity pump that would keep the moisture (RH) at perfect levels, without having to refill the water channels under the egg tray. Then it's just set and go....but you prolly need to take some more good stuff to Goodwill for the extra room.....

I haveta laf outloud...cause I found my felling wedge that I've been lookin for ever for when I made room for the bator in the spare room here. Who woulda remembered that I used it for a scraper in the brooder before...it's the last place I thought to look for a felling wedge that I lost..but it did work sweet. I'm happy to have it back....trees to fell soon.

Jiminwisc - have a safe drive on Saturday. The weather is not supposed to be the greatest. We vacation in Watersmeet every summer; DH is from there.

I can sympathize with the dog stuff...I filled a wheelbarrow yesterday with the dog "droppings"! And I still have half the yard to go! Our chocolate lab only uses a very small area to do his business. Our golden retriever and the plott hound mix both are all over the yard. I just love this time of the year!

We got our German Shepherd pup from Florence, MI. That is northeast of Iron Mountain.

I need to do dog duty, also. I have been avoiding that task so far, but time is up.

Well, it is a beautiful area to drive through, lots of good fishing over there. I am located about an hour or so east of that area. Cause when you're from the UP it's easier to measure distance in time, rather than miles! :D

We will be attempting to get into our property on Friday or Saturday to retrieve more firewood, seeing as we have at least two more months of cold nights up here and have already gone through 14 cords!
