Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

LOL that's a cute poem Jimbo !
Speaking of doo doo we have to take a detour from the back door to get to the driveway...around d all the duck doo doo mixed with the goat doo doo it's one slippery mess.
Every time I slip and slide in the duck and goose doo doo I think of Terri O and her story of slipping and sliding in it ! Haven't landed in any ... knock on wood. LOL
Yep Bigz I found a couple pairs of shoes I had been looking for. A gun cleaning kit (and I see ET had bought a new one already) Some new dog collars and bunch of other crap... I mean good stuff I didn't remember buying ! Shaking my head here....wish I had all the money I've spent on duplicate things I buy because I can't locate the original ! LOL
Sitting down at the neighbor babysitting. We cheated Big time on our diet. Birthday cake....chips....(

Didn't think you are suppose to compost dog or cat poo poo btw.
all this pooh talk reminded me of a poem.

as I watched a bird fly by
he dropped something in my eye
I didn't laugh
I didn't cry
I was just glad that cows don't fly ..

good evening,

Sandi, watch your step,,

my compost pile is just a big pile of chicken schitz .. a half a tractor bucket of dog pooh will hardly be noticed,, by April, it should be pretty well composted.. I buried it when I turned the pile today,,

I don't use raw compost on root crops like beets and carrots.. It goes in for the corn, tomatoes and pepper plants..

last year's corn patch will become the root crop patch this year..

not much on TV tonight..

tomorrow we are having our property appraised..
Annie gets uptight about such things..

I am thinking of selling my hatchery equipment..
I have so many extras in the form of egg trays to double the capacity of the GQF Sportsmans .. It is like selling 4 units instead of 2 ...

I finished the saw sled today.. I am not pleased with it,, I am either going to build a new one or else change the runners.. the oak seems to be too sticky.. I would like to find some of that tough plastic material.. I think I have a catalog somewhere with it listed..
and I think one runner is OK instead of two..

Dare I ask what is a saw sled? A sled for your saw?
a saw sled is a device built on the top of a table saw.. a small piece of plywood with runners underneath that slide in the two grooves in the saw table top.. with it you can eliminate the miter gauge for most crosscutting operations.. ..

if you have 10 minutes, go to U Tubes and type in table saw sled..

I have to say, sick with the flu and being stuck at home was not how I imagined spending my 20th anniversary!

Hard to believe it has been that long, and we have both survived... ;)

On the up side it is also Mike Rowe's birthday. :)

Hi All!

I guess I should have posted when I stopped in earlier, now I have CRS and am too tired to go back and read.

Hope who ever is sick gets over it soon! DH was sick with flue when I went into the hospital but I hadn't shown any symptoms yet. They gave me some preventive medicine, probably a good idea.

Night All!

It was easy to quit when I was pregnant. However, I even have the e-cig. And still need the busy hand thing. Do you still crave? I know it is completely in my head. Because even after 8 mi ths (longest pregnancy) I wanted one so bad it drove me nuts. Hubby thought I was so horrible pregnant. But really it was no smokes no MTD and no coffee.
Stacy if I have learned anything about you it is that you will have that coop done in no time!
No cravings after about a year. I think that took so long because I am a slow learner. Now the smell of cigg smoke makes me sick. I can smell a smoker in a crowd and know which person he is.

I do remember how hard it was. It takes much focus to quit. Something I forgot to mention before, Sleep more when you quit. when people are tired, they loose will power.

Good point JJ about sleeping !

Do your best...I know it is hard...my mother just had another near miss heart attack and still cant get her to quit. She also has COPD issues. She is 78 and has her words saying she wants to quit but not her brain. Her Heart needs it though. Scary stuff.
So due to driving back and forth to Milwaukee at crazy hours around kids and work to check on mom, I am back in somewhat normal land, just exhausted. I still have about a third of the backyard to finish from winter dog pooop times two. Already moved about 4 wheelbarrows full to the back yard. sigh. Chicken coop is half cleaned...need to get to the other half. Have three breeds I want to add to my coop this year... 2 I have figured out eggs for, does anyone have any Amaracaunas...I would like some true blue eggs. (unk?)

otherwise just planning my garden. I really want to focus on the fruit bushes and trees this year. Hoping to find some free berries on craigslist. Got a few last year. Hoepin this might be one of my last years doing a big CSA. We love the farm we work with, but they got rid of all half shares and are only doing full shares. We get a little better each year with our planting and now the kids are getting bigger they leave me alone to do stuff or actually help. Finding what works best for growing in our area and what does not. And what the kids and I actually eat vs what is fun to grow. Love hearing creative planting ideas!!

ok so that is my update for now. back to work and craving sleep... maybe after school. Kids do homework...mom is just going o lie on coach and close her eye...zzzzz

That's good advice, JJ! Quitting was the hardest thing I ever did but I'm so glad I did! Nicotine is one of the most addictive substances so you may have to keep trying. If cold turkey doesn't work for you try mapping out a system of slowly cutting back - that's what worked for me. Over 30 years nicotine free!!
