Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Ok that did it.... No Cheese....No Apple Pie Shots !!!! What does QC stand for? Or where ever you said ? ET went and picked up two more shipments of eggs today. Two more coming tomorrow. Not sure if I am going to wait to set them all of pull a Jimbo and do staggered hatches. Guess it depends on if the eggs cells are floaters or not. Then will let them rest an extra day.

I only have a few birds...now the LB has decided to broody. BCM should be around easter hatch. Will have to break the LB.

Congrats on the job!! Has been a very busy start to spring for both our business's.

Irish I am so sorry

I am tellin ya, lock Eric in a rabbit cage for a week alone. He'll have an attitude adjustment pretty quick.

Eric spent the entire summer by himself in the chicken tractor - of course, some of the girls hung around him a some - but it didn't seem to make an impression on him. As soon as it gets a bit warmer he goes back to the bachelor quarters.

I feel your pain Irish. I too am waiting for some warmer temps to get my boys out in our tractor too. I need my breeding pen back! So sorry to hear about Cupcake.

Frenchie, QC= quality control dept.

For those of you not on Facebook or who are but haven't seen this yet, it is a must-see for chicken people.

Enjoy chicken talk!

I had a turkey and a rooster that liked to spur me,, Annie came up with the idea of carrying a spray bottle of water,, after a dose of that, all I had to do was hang the bottle from my pocket and I was safe to go ..

the Asian lady brought 125 eggs.. one dozen of which are bantam eggs..
she said that her aunt will be bringing about 100 soon,
and a friend of hers will be bringing some, too..
that bator can handle about 500 eggs.. I think we will be pushing the limit before too long..
so much for my not hatching eggs this year,,

Dan, not (UnkaDan) brought 24 guinea eggs..

the incubator in the chicken coop is at 97F and holding,, so I decided to reset it from square one..
it is running off the back up thermostat for now..

500 eggs?! I don't even know how that would work! WOW! I figured out what I'm going to do for a coop, and I'm so giddy about it -- shed remodel + big run. It's a huge load off my mind! Putting in formal application to the village tomorrow, hope there aren't any snags in that process...

I took Twain's advice on this topic... grabbing the roo up and holding him by his feet upside down in front of all of his ladies usually takes the attitude out of them, if not dunk em in a bucket of water when the ladies are watching.

You may not want the cheese after BL4 is done doing her thing to it. just sayin

Welcome newbies... Remember that chickens are not humans. They are born with 99% of the instincts it takes to stay alive

Hi JJ!

and also to the people (future friends) that i have not yet met! Get to the bash and remedy that situation!

So I have quail eggs in the bator that I traded for some boy quail plus some of my own eggs....the weather changes are playing havoc...too bad DH didnt make that wine incubator that he said he was planning....

Puppies are headed to an event at Petco in Delafield on Sunday...I am hoping none come home (well, maybe I would like ONE)

I have an adorable Basset Hound as a foster now. He is such a good boy!

I dont think he will last long!

OK--out to do chores and then to bed...big couple of days looming for sure!
Nighties--TerriO
