I looked on line and yours could have Gleet as well... I am pretty sure that is our case... The smell was sickly sweet, I actually can smell the yeasty scent... so this morning with fold top glad baggies on my hand I rubbed her inside and out with Lotrimin and honey... the prolapse had not reoccur during the evening... Poor chicky I did not tell her to turn her head and cough...

Terri...we will find a time for that Rooster swap... not sure when as my mom went in the hospital last night with heart failure. I am spending tomorrow with her and will drill he doctors for more. fun stuff. Second hospital visit in past 8 weeks... Geting old sucks

Until chickens I never realized what a mink/weasel/ermine issue we really have in WI... wow. I may(fingers crossed) have some chicks if she wants to start from scratch...more in 10 days!

Well, my hatch is nearly finished I'm afraid. With assistance I got one more Lavender Cinnamon Queen. One Lavender Australorp along with the Lavender/Cinnamon Queen and EE from yesterday.
And ashamed to say in my attempt to save another Lavender Australorp it didn't make it. I floated the eggs again today and there are still two that are rocking (barely)but not holding out much hope.
So 4 chicks total out of 41 set. Mostly shipped eggs and some of mine that were not fertile.
Cind...make sure you keep those chicks out of any area with chicken dust that could contain the Mereks virus until the vaccine takes hold. Who ever takes hold first wins.... Virus or vaccine.

I finally got pictures of silkies and showgirls from guy on CL. They were not what I was looking for...plus all colors mixed up. I just want black showgirls with dark skin and nice top knots.....is that so much to ask?

Haven't seen an Ermine since we moved up here. Been at least 5 yrs. Something did drag some chickens into the bushes though last year but ???? I think our free range geese as well as our dogs might be keeping them at bay. I think fox is our biggest culprit !

Afternoon All.....yep, best wishes for your mom Kris. Good luck with the new job bl4...not something I want though....and mom, I'm happy to see you again. I thought you were gone for good.

Been busy with Easter stuff here, and in the last 2 days we cut 8 pick-up loads of wood at camp....dang....I could use those, but volunteer work is all about giving...my splitter had a workout too. The wood pile needs attention there...unbelievable how much wood they go through there.

Tough loss for Bucky...dang it anyway.
