SClark... She sure is getting big! That hen would have been in the pot if I caught her kill chicks!

Chicks are doing fine (what I got of them) No word from My Pet Chicken yet.

I told the story so many times to so many people, I just forgot who I told what..

I just set 4 duck eggs and 41 chicken eggs for JimP. I was wrong to assume he brought guinea eggs.. 2 of the duck eggs and 1 of the chicken eggs had cracks in the shell..I tossed them,, One of the duck eggs that I did set had a very small dent ,, I will keep my eye on that one,,

about 4 or 5 inches of set sticky snow her this morning,,

tracks on the deck let me know that Frankie was checking to see if we were up yet..
She seems lonely, a little.. going from her constant companion and the puppies down to nobody must be a shock,..

So who is going to the swap tomorrow again? I want to know if I really have to wake up at 6 AM again on a Saturday.........

So far so good with the job, they have not tossed me to the curb....... yet. Time will tell though, it has only been 4 days.....

I am still wrapping my head around the fact that I am now a member of management....... surreal.

The rain was sooooo cold yesterday! I started to move my planting gear into the side of the tractor shed (with windows) but I started shivering and decided it could wait. I'm chomping at the bit to get started with the garden.

Moved the chicken tractor into the back yard so the girls could have some dry shelter but two of them just didn't want to leave the coop so I locked them up for their own good.

Getting ready to open the store on Saturday after the swap. Hope to see a lot of you there!

Fish Fry Friday to everyone....had the puter unplugged for a couple days with all the lightening we had here. Power was off down at camp with a tree across the power line....all fixed now and good to go.

Nice pics from you folks...thanks for sharing them.

Hope they send you the peeps you are missing Cind along with some extras for the pain and suffering...but you will prolly end up with a refund of some kind prolly.

Saving eggs for a second hatch....need to rebuild the flocks some more.

Now you can spoil your only dog Jim....be able to afford a steak treat now and then, if it makes it past your plate...

You don't know Annie,, these dogs eat better than I do..

I am satisfied with just one dog,, sometimes that is too many,, as long as they stay on my property, I don't mind having them,, so far Frankie has been good about it.. she wanders onto the road once in awhile, I don't like that at all.. too many big trucks zooming past here,, this is not a main trunk, just a township road.. but there is a steel dealer up the road a couple of miles and semi's are coming and going all the time,, and you know those drivers,,,,,,,,

snow is melting, snow is sliding off of the house, now .. going to be wet here for awhile.. I figure by the end of next week I should be able to spread my compost pile and drag the garden for the first time,,

there is an enterprising guy selling real nice compost by the trailer load.. I should stop and see how much a pick up load would cost.. about 4 loads would do wonders for building up the soil in the small garden,,

I think I still have a piece of canvas around here somewhere,, I can line the box of the PU truck and then just pull the canvas off of the truck with the tractor.. easy unloading ..
