Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

When we moved into this place, we found a mini-treasure trove of things left by the previous owner. One of the things left was this huge armoire. It is about 9 feet long and all this fancy (but slightly broken) wooden detail on top and bottom. The plywood doors are curved, it is pretty, but not to our tastes at all. How would I go about setting a price on this to sell it?

I have tried searching online, I went to the library but the only books they had were really old - possibly as old as this armoire, lol!

I have a friend that taught at the local community college in Wyoming. She had a paper that she made up to hand out the first day of class with a written list of expectations for her students. No phone calls during class unless it was an emergency, No Profanity, No Cheating, Homework is to be handed in on time... Mostly it was really basic stuff I had to follow since 2nd grade (my 1st grade teacher had a meltdown in the classroom, so we were pretty much forgiven for anything that year.) She had them do quite a few research papers and one of the things she had in all caps on the list was "WIKIPEDIA IS NOT A VALID RESOURCE FOR RESEARCH" She would get so upset whenever she talked about the students in her class. The papers they turned in were so full of basic grammar errors and spelling mistakes it was pitiful. She showed me a paper handed in once that you could tell was plagiarized as the student didn't bother to reformat the paper to have only one font type. Every section that he copied off the internet had a different font style and size.

Her son had a semester long math class that was just on using a graphing calculator. and she had to buy the $150 calculator.

good morning,

I almost had to laugh at what I just read about college students and our language,
if it was not so sad ..

I was probably the dumbest kid in school .. but even as stupid as I am, I can out spell and use the correct words most of the time ..

what do you think all this texting is doing to improve the spelling situation ?

I heard grade school teachers say that correct spelling is not important, as long as the idea can be understood .. In some cases that can be true, but not as a general rule ..

now they are not teaching cursive writing,, I wonder how that is going to affect people signing their own names ??

I don't know what I am going to do today, yet ..

I couldn't wait for the coffee to finish brewing, so I snagged a cup of the first brewed ..
I don't think I will need any more caffeine than this, today ..

today is due day for this first batch of eggs.. nothing yet,,

Most large pieces like this are very difficult to sell right now. Though beautiful, a person would have to have the big, blank wall on which to put it. Homes these days all have built-ins and big closets with not much open wall space. Style is another drawback. Probably the reason it was left behind for you.

You will likely have to consult with an auctioneer or someone who deals in furniture like that if you want to pinpoint a price. You will probably not find anyone locally who has that knowledge if you are not in Milwaukee or Madison and expect to pay for an appraisal.

My thoughts about pricing most things is that it's worth what someone else is willing to pay for it AND what you are willing and happy to get for it.

As it happens, I just picked up a portable, folding playpen for them yesterday at a house I was cleaning out. They will have some grass to play in very soon!

Hi.. been awhile since I've been here, so I hope all is well!! Just wondering how worried everyone is about the bird flu going around? I am not far from the outbreaks in MN and WI... Barron CO. is not far at all.
Any precautions anyone is taking???

Also, I am in search of some true Ameracauna hatching eggs:)
