I keep forgetting to post a pic of DHs birthday cake. Since his birthday was on Easter, my sis made him a cake. She is a chicken fanatic, uh, farmer, too.

Danged predator got two more girls today when I wasn't around! Same MO. One carcass and one missing.

Between the predator and the threat of virus I may as well lock up the 8 chickaroos that are left inside the coop until we trap that $#&%$^# and the flu goes away. At least the little peeps are safe and will be in the tractor in the back yard when it warms up some.

Cuties, I may be looking for another batch of peeps after these are outside.

FT... they said they will ship on or after the 4th.

Smelled another skunk tonight.Grrr.

Found a stash of eggs today. They were under a bench, I looked under there almost everyday and nothing, so I gave up looking, well, they started laying there again!

Nothing else.... Night All!

do you know any hunters? Someone thT may have a trail cam you can borrow? So sorry. During the day? Huh?the hawks here are not big enoigh to carry away our adults. They sit in the yard the few times that has happened.
Is it super early in the morning? That and night is the only time I have had the coyote come.
Isnit possibleit is a neighbors dog?
I will definitely get you more chicks. Just give a heads up.

Woke up before the alarm today...another volunteer day for The Fix is In spay and neuter clinic.

Put about 10 more eggs in lock down yesterday. And set a couple.of dozen more.
Mostly silkies and a few California white leghorn/Lavender Orpington crosses. Will be interesting to see what they produce (other than CC grandpeeps)

I fired up the new incubator. I collected eggs for a full week and only filled one shelf. I am not sure I will ever be able to fill this thing. I do not have many birds left. I think I am down to 15 layers. I set Buckeyes, BBS Orpingtons, Gold Laced Orpingtons, Chocolate Orpingtons, White Orpingtons, and White Silkies.

I am sorry a few have predator issues. If anyone needs chicks or layers I have about 5 mixed pullets between the age of 4 weeks to 10 weeks and two that started laying this week. The young birds are mixed breeds. (stupid horny buckeye). The two older birds are 100% Orpingtons, but poor breeder quality and just pets.
