Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

the news this morning reported another 800,000 birds identified with Avian Influenza to be destroyed.
All on one farm.

the price of eggs has to be effected, right?

Yah, another bigger chicken facility. It's either out on A or in Palmyra. I will know more later.
my mother works for the Co. In charge of the process. They are killing the chickens with the foam, then lining them up in rows on the ground, on site, mulch and wood chips go on top, then when the carcasses reach 100℉ they are to be scooped up and landfilled. The cost so far for three days to the Good ol USDA is $93,000.

Sorry for the losses. I lost my buff orp yesterday to a Fox I believe.

Is it super early in the morning? That and night is the only time I have had the coyote come.
Isnit possibleit is a neighbors dog?
I will definitely get you more chicks. Just give a heads up.
So sorry!

Thanks, Cuties. I've been keeping them in the coop as long as possible in the AM. Sometimes I don't let them out until noon. Yesterday it was around 11 AM and I didn't get back until closing time. Whatever it was got one of them inside the coop. We do have a couple of neighbors with big-ish dogs though I haven't seen them loose.

backyard flock in junea county....i guess the family went to the hospital...the got antibotics.....the three year old didnt respond to the antibotics so they moved him to madison...that is what i found out

I guess everything is a little messy right now. On the radio this morning I heard 400,000 but like I see was stated above another article claimed 800,000. Thank you for posting those links, I was looking at a few others, but most of the stuff I've come across in the last few minutes here are not updated.
