Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Jim any idea what kind of chickens they were?
I thought you were looking for call chucks for someone else?
Cute little $hits aren't they?
EggheadWi where do you volunteer for? The most rewarding thing I think I have ever done for sure.
Thanks for the compliment Bigzio....second one I got yesterday. Wow....that feels good !

Hey CC my leghorn egg is pipping...your lavender orp daddy. Can't wait to see the little thing. 99% sure they are they dad (1 of the 4) there is a black ameraucana roo loose but I don't think it is his !
Sandi, you are correct,.. I was looking for calls for someone else,, but she quit communicating and never acknowledged any of the leads I sent her way,, sort of P'd me off, ya know ??
so when these came up. I decided to take them,, I got them from Birdman's Aunt from Illinois.
Met up with her in Green Bay..

I have to get them moved by May 7, that is when my meaties are supposed to come,, I need that pen for them,, wellll, not right away, but soon afterwards..

Jim, your males are the two ducks on the left side of the first picture you posted.

And your hatching skills are at PhD levels. Hatching the Calls will put you up at Wizard levels. Like Cuties, I found the call mammas were the best incubators.

Looking forward to the weekend! Next week is going to be a rough one!

Hi All!

Jim... too bad you didn't show her the bad eggs, sometimes people need to see their mistakes.

2nd son is coming to help out today, told him NO FIRES! LOL He'll have the boys today so he should be on good behavior. I told him the boys could pull the dead stalks out of the asparagus bed.

Night All!

Morning Cind.

I remember you had one before (your avatar). You still have him? Any hens?
Congrats on the hatchers. Is your neck sore yet?

Hope to see pics soon.

Glad you are enjoying the ducks Jim. That must have been a sight to see when the duck flew around you.

Going to visit Delisha later today. I wish the sun would come out.

Looks like a gorgeous day is beginning! I'll be at the store today if anyone is in the area and wants to pop in. I'll probably let the chickaroos out of the coop since the hubs should be putzing around outside today.

Everyone have a great weekend!

good morning,

the guineas are hatching right on schedule.. only have two dozen eggs in this first batch,,
there are four dozen in the next batch..

I took one tray of unhatched eggs out.. going to sit and break them into a pail, just for my curiosity if nothing else ..

I am going to keep the two late hatched chicks with the guineas..

Yeah, Robin, it was cool to have that duck fly around me,, and that coop is not that big either.. I am going to try to get these ducks to eat out of my hand before I take them outside.. that will be a trick because they don't seem to eat a lot.. and bread doesn't seem to interest them,,

I told Annie to quit putting bread cubes in their coop.. I want them to get all the benefits from the high protein feed I bought. I WANT EGGS !!!

the sun just came out here,, maybe we will have a nice day afterall..
If the gardens are dry enough,Ollie and I will give them each a harrowing experience ..

I am trying to decide what to plant in the green house this year.. lots of pepper plants, for sure, but that leaves a lot of space for something else.. it was all potatoes last year, under a thick layer of straw.. we had an OK yield , but I do better hilling them with dirt ..I think two 30 ft rows will be it for potatoes this year..

well, my FT impersonation is over for now..

No FT Sandi , I don't know Josh,, you aren't joshing me, are you ??

..........jiminwisc..........

the males I had picked are the mallard looking one on the left in the first picture , the white one was my third choice.. there is another mallard looking one , gut he doesn't show up on these pictures too well..

...

...

I have to take some pictures when there is more light .. the flash sort of peters out at this distance ..

Yes Robin.....your Roo that "throws hen" threw me all roosters. I lost the roo in my avatar. I think all of the roos are from yours. Maybe one is from a shipped egg????? Never had a Lavender hen! :(
Of the two orps I bought last week hatched on 3-15 the lavender one has a bigger comb than the black...figures. They are not related so that leaves me a small amount of hope !
Zippy is on his I mean her way out!
LOL I can picture the call buzzing around Jim !
