Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Yeah no plans on doing that ! Good advice.
I know you don't candle but maybe worth looking into on customers eggs so you can pull the clears.
yah, but candling means more handling,, and it doesn't hurt the clears to go full term,, once in awhile I get a stinky, but those are usually cracked eggs..

I wouldn't look forward to candling 100 to 1000 eggs, even a few at a time..

I referenced the wrong pic Jim. The Male Mallard looking one is a male, and the black bibbed one next to him is another male. The green coloring on the bill is what I am going by. Of course the White one you would have to listen to. The pic I am referring to now is the last one of the three you posted. The two on the upper Left of the pic are your males.

Cute chickie Frenchie!

Afternoon All....I would think if you candle a tray at a time Jim, by the time you finish you prolly free up a whole tray for more eggs to set. Just doesn't pay to spin clear eggs in my mind. The new candle thingys go really fast when checkin for clears...just sayin.

I would think even a plastic tote with the bad shoes at the edge of your property would work Mom. Simply wear your good ones to that point and change them going and coming....disinfectant wipes in there for the pooches feet and a swipe on those....quality walks with loved ones are priceless you know!

Ready for great weather next week.

Yes Robin.....your Roo that "throws hen" threw me all roosters. I lost the roo in my avatar. I think all of the roos are from yours. Maybe one is from a shipped egg????? Never had a Lavender hen!

Of the two orps I bought last week hatched on 3-15 the lavender one has a bigger comb than the black...figures. They are not related so that leaves me a small amount of hope !
Zippy is on his I mean her way out!
LOL I can picture the call buzzing around Jim !
My rooster than fathered all girls was Moose, my Dom. He only sired 1 roo. Heather has him.
You got 6 lav chicks from me.
I thought you had gotten a lav hen from Tomski a while back?

Zippy is adorable! SHE should be entered in a contest. Great idea Jim.

Hi all--jealous of your sun Jim...nasty cloudy and cold here today...which is why I have read a ll 350 messaged that I had missed!

My chickens are still here doing chickeny things...all except one. I am sorry to report that Tommy left this Earth sometime during the night. He had a bath yesterday and a blow dry so maybe he felt he was clean enough to head to the chicken God? He had not been doing well the past week; and while it is sad to see his empty cage in my living room, I am glad that he is not suffering any longer. It appeared that he may have had a massive staff type infection as I found all sorts of bumble like lumps on him when I did his bath yesterday. He had several on his wing bones and even a little one on his wattles. RIP Tommy because I know there are a lot of folks that will miss you at Camp this year!

You do great work Frenchie! That is the reason that I do not foster cats...I would keep way too many!
Here is a pic of one of my clients with some of the puppies I am fostering right now.
He was telling his son that he was sleeping with "a couple of girls" right now. Funny guy!

OK--looks like the dogs are starving...I guess I oughta get them fed and then think of something for us too!
Have a good one! TerriO

FrenchToast I volunteer with Community Cat but right now we're very short on clinics. I think we need a new one close to the IL WI border.

Terri O tell us more about those pups!

Hi All!

Jim... too bad you didn't show her the bad eggs, sometimes people need to see their mistakes.

2nd son is coming to help out today, told him NO FIRES! LOL He'll have the boys today so he should be on good behavior. I told him the boys could pull the dead stalks out of the asparagus bed.

Night All!

We were pulling and using a hoe to break the ground around the asparagus and found 5 baby bunnies burrowed under the straw... I thought it was rats when I first saw it

They were pretty quick but still small enough to squeeze through the chicken wire we have at the base of the garden fence... So cute when they are small but get me a big bunny and my pellet gun in a couple of months... They are free now and out of the garden. Think we need to get the gate built!

Was a work day... field & office. Tomorrow go to Eau Claire to take our Daughter out for her b-day.
Will candle brahma eggs when we get back. I'm certain that she has gone past the 21 days. Her health has improved
since moving her back to the main coop.
