good morning,

I would rule out fox and watch for a dog.. Foxes like to snatch and run,,

what are guineas good for ?? when we have guineas, we do not have wood ticks.. a big plus if you have dogs.. dogs are tick magnets ..
also, since I have had guineas, I have no more ant hills..
and last year I didn't have to pick any potato bugs .. the jury is still out on whether it was the guineas or just a fluke ..

I am mentally draining gas from Ollie already,,I have to rig up a tube system to get it from the tank into a 5 gal can.. going to wait a couple of hours until it warms up outside..

meanwhile I will be getting a brooder pen ready for the guinea keets ..

poults keets hatcher I find it humorous that these words are underlined on a chicken site ..

I was a busy boy this morning, took a phone call, set up a brooder pen, gave the chicks to the Asian lady, took two orders for baby geese,, which are not even hatched yet..
took one order for keets..

I just remembered, I have water running outside..

just set 62 more eggs.. added some shavings to the brooder pen.
and now I am ready for some breakfast..

Thank you for the answer on Guineas, Jim, I sure did not know that. Given that information, can I free range guineas, so they take a different feed than chickens, do they need shelter at night? When I was a kid in Arkansas, they just roamed the yard, I do not remember seeing feed for them, or water. Strange. But, I am really old now, so maybe my memory is not as good as it used to be.
