This is my favorite BLRW pullet so far

Slow going on the hatching here. One duck hatched so far. One of my Showgirls (Sunn...my house rooster ) became a father to a black showgirl, a paint showgirl and a paint silkie.
He is white and paired with two paint silkies....I've wanted to get some paint showgirls and black showgirls forever....took a chance breeding him because depending g on if he I recessive or dominant white. I dint want to get partridge so whatever type he is it is what I want ! Yippee
So with that being said I have to name all of his kids!

Sorry to report...I may have lied. My California Whit leghorn has been cheating with my pure black k Ameracauna. .....strolling side by side. Jut hatched out a dark colored chick and the two that hatched last week nay NOT be from the Lavender Orpingtons after all : (

Well, Gimpy is coming along. She was up on the perch last night. Which brought a question to mind.;...How do chickens sleep on those little bitty perchs without falling off?

Beautiful Race Day to all....I prefer at least a 2x2 for roosts, and love a 2x4 turned on it's side for the big girls....they can be close to the ground for the heavy breeds....make it comfortable for them, they will thank you with more eggs....stressed hens don't lay well...it doesn't take much to upset them.
