QUESTION....when incubating.. and you have a stinky egg...does that mean the egg is old...cause i got some jumbos which are hatching right now (quail) and 23 didnt develop which is a huge number compared to what i normally hatch...and when i put them into the hatcher then the good ones....well to of them broke and started to ooze out...
also hatching pheasant and chicken eggs as well

Chris, a stinky egg usually is cracked.. get rid of it ,,

I found two when I went looking this afternoon,, duck eggs.. they crack easily,,

also Chris, I talked to a nice lady today from way up Nort wisc.. she has many types of birds and livestock ,, also has pheasants.. I told her to check in here and talk to you,,

this is to EVERYBODY ,, this lady has a bunch of young Sebastopol geese.. some feathering out, some younger..

IDK how she got my name and number ?? Robin ?? thank you..

I set up feed barrels close to all of the pens today,, no more carrying pails of feed hither and yon.

added 4 guinea keets to the brooder..

will be taking 5 chicks out there soon, until Jim P can come pick them up..

except for a trip to F&F for feed, I stayed home all day ..

Just a tease for you all - I picked a 1/2 pound of wild asparagus off our property this weekend. I only saw 5 asparagus hunters come through today - and I still managed to find enough. The neighbor stopped by to warn me that "it is the season" and it is only going to get worse. I guess there are some people who will park in the field entrance and walk the fields to pick the asparagus. Sorry folks, I am here now and this is MY asparagus - and being unemployed at the time will allow me to patrol. Maybe I should put the gun case on the ATV...
Here is supper - I made Chicken with Mushrooms and Asparagus.

We used to have wild asparagus patches growing in the ditches years ago before we got here. The neighbor told us a woman used to stop and pick it all. He told her she should leave some to go to seed but she wouldn't, then it stopped growing back. I hope she enjoyed it.

I agree cracked eggs that are incubated will be stinkers.
If you don't buy all the sebs Jim shoot me her number. I may be interested in adding a few.
Gave a mix breed rooster to a neighbor who just got about 9 hens. Said he just wants a rooster because he likes to here them crow ! Told him to check us out.
Met two old guys in FF on Saturday. Got to talking and he has peacocks.....hmm do I see more peacocks in my future? He lives way down by Pulaski. They don't do Internet but did tell them about the bash.
Still can't find bed rails for the camper unless I want to spent over $500. 1/4 mile from home last Friday my exhaust fell off my car... dragged it home. Wonder how much $$$ that is going to sick out of me..... rather spend it o camper parts...don't really want to tent the bash.
Lucky for all of you...my phone e needs charging g... by for now.

thanks jim...do you know what kind of pheasants she has....also...my aunt is coming up this coming weekend..so getting excited to see her....right now i have quail and pheasants that have hatched and are still in the hatcher....well off to sleep i go.....big day later

I contacted K.A. she has sebbies hatching and doesn't seem to be interested in buying a gander any more.. she still didn't say if she found one or not.. she also said she has some call duck eggs in her incubator.. IDK where she got them from.. so as far as I am concerned, I am done looking for either..

much to do today.. I don't know what to do first,, by the time I make up my mind, the day will be gone..

Chris, IDK what kinds of pheasants this lady has,, I was hoping she would check in here and you two could hook up..
Tell your Aunt that the calls are doing well,, I switched their feed to Sprout All Flock. It took them a couple of days to figure out that they were supposed to eat it,,
as a group, they sure don't eat a lot..
