Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hi All!

That is a nice egg pic. Terri! Too bad the state put you on hold.

No chicks yet, no notice they were shipped either.

Nothing new.... Night All!

Love the pic Terri!

So my chicks are 18 days old and besides the welsummer pair I can tell from their coloring, I really dont know... I see combs but really no red wattles. The BCm have bigger dark combs but I think I remember my girls having bigger combs too in marans. Andalusian looks boyish...but hoping for girl. All the rest are Wyandottes or Olive eggers so have flat combs and are hard to tell. Neighbor wants to take some off my hands but not sure...law of odds says that I have 4 girls and 10 boys...

Found a senior apartment for mom and medicare pays for a nurse to visit her three times a week... this might work. Now to downsize all her stuff (can you say my biggest rummage sale yet in June) and find an outlet for 1930-1950's fancy small things (cases, depression glass, milkglass etc) any of my antique friends have an idea on those?

otherwise we have at least one or more sports activities every single day of the week, mostly for my daughter (although my son is the one who really needs the activity) sigh.

Depending on what side of New Glarus you are on, I'm only about 15 minutes away. Let me know if I can help you.

Nice weather day to everyone...best wishes Kris for a good solution. Terri...the best part of the whole weekend bash is you and Derek holding hands all the time, and hugging all the time...you make the rest of us jealous for your loving connection...that we wish we all had...

What's your secret anyway? Gotta be the snobby beer? It's all I can think of off hand....for the reason....but Tommy will be missed at the bash for sure.....every year is different..love them all!

How has it been a week already since I was on here?! I'm too lazy to read 4 pages, sorry.

I might have mentioned how I'm missing some chickens? Well I haven't any go missing for some while. But now I'm sitting outside and Georgie is missing. She ALWAYS comes when I call her. She kinda stalks me when I'm outside. I swear if some f--king fox took my goose... I'm actually going to cry over that loss. No way around it. Eff!ng predators. Mellie you aren't going to be a softie about the animal that may have taken Georgie, are you?

Ok... False alarm. I found her. In the coop... Trying to set some non-fertilized eggs! So I'm pretty sure I can do this but... Can I put some chicken eggs under her?? If chickens can raise ducks, and ducks raise chickens, then why couldn't a goose raise chickens? I remember last year how she watched the other chicken Mommas wander around with chicks. She would follow them around and carefully watch those chicks until they all ended up cuddling at night.

go for it.. geese make wonderful step parents..

when I had a flock of geese, I always put the baby ducks with them,, it always amazed me how the ganders would take over..

and with the mother goose, those chicks she would raise will be just as calm and friendly as she,.

you are all welcome for the rain,, you know it rained because I watered my garden yesterday,,

I was supposed to go mow a lawn , but it was raining, so I disappeared for the day,, I can do it tomorrow morning..

tomorrow my meaties are supposed to be here.. 100 of them,,

someone forgot to lock the guinea pen door and it rolled open,, half the guineas were out when this someone came home,, today I let them all out.. they are real good about laying down just outside the door on the ground,,
