They are WAAAAAY too big to get into a jug!!! Someone must have been pulling your leg! I'm going to try soaking something in ammonia - then down the hatch!
They probly were pulling my leg. maybe it was one of those little stripped things. prairie dog?

Sorry we missed the bash. We will make it one of these years I promise!
Got the little roos seperated in my cobbled together little coop. 6-8 weeks is all they have to make it. Then into my freezer they go. we will see if hubby can survive them being there that long. No crowing yet at 7-8 weeks.
Dog ran away bu someone found him. that was scary and exciting all rolled into one.
Off to work.

Hi all!

Ran across this link from another chicken site, thought it was neat. We are hoping to do blue, black and splash Orpingtons, so this will be helpful to us, maybe to some of you as well. Looks foreign (literally) but just click into the "Choose color" area for both parents, results come up in a blue area below.

Still on hold on the coop build...swimming pool, play structure, gardens, flower beds, mulching, lawn, family events...just keeping us so busy. Thankful that we are busied by good things and not by illness, etc!!

Someday soon I hope to add a crazy chicken lady hat to my stack!

And I am looking forward to coming to the chicken bash! I hope the timing works out for us. Is it always the weekend after Memorial Day? If so I will PEN it in my calendar for next year ;)

I'm glad you found your pup Kris. Scary for sure.

Don't quote me on this, but I think the striped ground squirrels that you are referring to are also known as golden gophers. So technically she wasn't wrong.

Although I kinda doubt they would fit through the opening of a milk jug. Maybe, but good luck getting them to try. They have so many entrances to their tunnels & burrows that the water trick would not work, in my opinion. We have those ground squirrels here & they have holes everywhere.

Yup, just checked on Wiki:
The thirteen-lined ground squirrel is the namesake, Goldy Gopher of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers teams, and responsible for Minnesota's nickname as the Gopher State.
