Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Ahhh rain... nice and steady... could have used it a couple of weeks ago.
Kristi, not much extra but I will keep you in mind... Next "Clucks" meeting will get you some already frozen raspberries.
The raspberries are so ripe and I can not get out there daily... so I just pick wash and tray freeze right away if I left them in the fridge or counter they would be mush then next day. I prefer my berries picked and plopped into the mouth, sitting a day is not good!

We built our own smoker and I can do a ton at once. I have smoked the Thanksgiving turkey for the last 2 years.
I smoked some bullheads once.. they were delicious..
I bought hay from a farmer one time.. they had a real nice large smoke house.. about the size of a milk house..
many years later I did an addition onto the house, now owned by a lawyer .. she had at least 40 cats. and they used the smoke house for a place to feed the cats.. bummer..

I think it should be done by now..

New chicken owner here..... Our 8 chicks are 4 weeks old on Monday, they're getting so big! Twice now I've gone out to the garage and one of them (my daughter calls her 'troublemaker') has been standing on TOP of the cover of the brooder....guess I need to make it a better fit next time! I'm ready to move them outside though, guess I should finish up the coop.

One question - I have to change their water 5+ times a day because they are constantly getting pine shavings, poop, etc in it, or knocking it over entirely. I have just one of those simple plastic chick waterers. How do you prevent them from making such a mess of their water? Does hanging it work? Or should I explore the pvc pipe + nipples route? Seems like the pvc wouldn't work so great in the winter?
