Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Cc we have 35 buns! I need to get Syd to go through them with me. She grew out quite a few that we purchased last year that are just not show quality for her. The girls live in a comony. And love it!
Irish, it took about 3 1/2 hours. We had everyone all penned and ready for them. We had a lot of good conversation. If anyone ever needs testing, I definitely recommend them :) the turkeys definitely to kk a long time. They needed to give a lot more blood. Felt pretty bad for them. But they took it pretty well. It was a bit stressful for the birds. I believe egg production will go down a bit. When I went back in the main coop when everyone was done, they were frantically scattering. And normally never do that. But I believe they had had enough handeling for 1 day ;)
All in all it went quite well. And was a great experience.
Now I can sell off the ones that I hadn't planned to keep. So if anyone is interested in some Olive Eggers roos and a few black bobbed calls just lmk!

why would it clog up ?
In fact, you could probably use motor oil or another kind of lighter oil.
I think a petroleum oil would be more effective .
Because corn oil is so thick? I thought a thicker oil would smother the mites faster and perhaps stay on their legs a bit better/longer than a thinner oil.

I use cooking oil because it is safe to ingest. Some of the oil you use to coat their legs gets absorbed into their body. I had a roo that I was treating a few years ago and his feathers over his entire body got real shiny & oily feeling. From then on, I switched to vegetable oil. That is just my preference, especially if I had to treat a hen & was consuming her eggs.

Looks good cs. I just subscribed.

I noticed that the egg production went way down right away. None of the late layers gave me any eggs yesterday and the flock stayed outside in a bunch for quite awhile after the "ordeal".

Thankful today. I had to call 911 and take Suzie to the ER for a grand mal seizure. Spent yesterday at the Hospital and we are glad to be home today. Im having trouble with this web-site allowing me to type. I only have problems on byc for some reason.

BigZ, let us know if you need anything. Remember we are only 20 min away.

Hugs and I hope Suzie is well. Seizures are tough to watch and hard on everyone.

Thank your son for his service/ or future service as I do not know where graduation comes in on time in service. But, as an old lady.....I remember the respect all our military USED to get.
