Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Thankful today. I had to call 911 and take Suzie to the ER for a grand mal seizure. Spent yesterday at the Hospital and we are glad to be home today. Im having trouble with this web-site allowing me to type. I only have problems on byc for some reason.

Glad to hear your back home. Hope all is well and stays that way.

Hope Suzie is doing better Bigz! Scary stuff.

We got around 4 inches last evening...didnt even know we were expecting any. Drive into work this morning was a little crazy.

Trying to plan out my chick needs for this summer. We have some friends wanting to get into chickens so told them I would hatch a few for them also. I saw the post from American Homestead Institute and Purely Ideal Poultry...anyone ever heard of this place. They have some great deals... $99 shipped for 25 pullets.
I know that I want to stick with multi colored eggs and good layers and prefer rose/cushion combs etc. I only have about 15 birds so I do need to rotate my birds every 3-4 years to keep my local customers and family in eggs. And we are going out west for 2 weeks in June so need to either have chicks hatched and integrated or wait until July to hatch...
Might be looking for eggs from semi local people...
Want to try to make the bash this year... we will see...kids are getting to a manageable level. It is hubby that is a pain....ok back to work ... needed a break for a few...later

that's $4.oo per bird. I assume they are chicks ? and not POL pullets ?

I paid $10.oo each for POL pullets..

I have heard of the Ideal Hatchery.. is that the same place ?

good morning,

we got only about 2 " here.. I am going to plow anyhow.. want to hit some of the spots I missed from the last snow.
Plowing today will be a lot warmer than it was last time.

better go get at it..

.......jiminwisc.........

After the snow to all.....we also ended up with 4".....

Thanks for all the kind words and prayers sent our way. She didn't get hurt bl4...it happened in the living room and she was sitting when it started...I wasn't sure she was gonna make it....lots of close eye attention from me and more tests to come yet.

Yep, you should be proud drake....I would be too if I were you.

If the purely poultry you are referring to is in Fremont...then that's tyler and he has chicks dropped shipped from Ideal Poultry....he is a middle man.

Twain has a new article in the new Backyard Poultry Magazine about raising meat birds...just sayin.

Be Safe...bigz

Yes, it is always a scary thing to watch. Unfortunately they do not always determine the cause, and if it will ever happen again.

Keep us posted Z. Hugs!
