Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I don't know about freak cw...while that's on the edge of legs giving out....I think 10lbs to 12lbs is the norm for those after 10 weeks with the proper feed. They do have a lot of fat compared to free range heritage breeds also...just sayin.

I need help figuring out how to successfully candle these eggs. I've used the light on my phone as I thought it would be the brightest. I can't see through some of them at all. I've watched videos on this but I'm not having success.
I had to take one egg of 29 out today, so down to 28. It was oozing clear yellow liquid?
I'm really thinking I should leave this process to the birds....and I would have except I had lazy hens!!!

Ok, so Nathan held the light and I held the egg this time. I was actually able to see various stages of development in the eggs. Meaning I saw clear & cloudy areas in some and a lot of darkness plus air cell in others. A few clearly had liquid in them that was the consistency of water (duds). I really think that I have eggs at 2 different stages of development and I think I have some that might have stopped growing along the way. Depending on whether they started growing under the hens or didn't start until they got in the incubator, I could have chicks hatching across a weeks time. I sure hope I get near 10 out of this batch.

HI everyone. It's been along time. Sorry.
How is everyone (that knows me)?
So whens the bash?
Jim do you have any guineas? We lost all our birds except 1 hen and 3 muscovies. Need some tick eaters around here.
I see bigz has posted. Hi!, terryO still around?
I have a senior this year so I'm hoping the bash doesn't land that weekend.
Anywho
I'll check back soon. I promise.
