Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

The Fish Emulsion was a favorite with Mung farmers. Sold a lot of it when I worked at Menards. I admit I really couldn't understand some of the older farmers, but I learned quick to show them where the Fish Emulsion power was.
Hey gardeners, Is it too late to plant green beans and get a harvest?

I would soak the bean seeds a day or two and then plant them,.
correct me if I am wrong.
or maybe do this, and also plant some without soaking.
what do you have to lose by trying ?

Good morning! We finally got some much needed rain here; the rain barrel was about empty. Hopefully, it will drown some of the many flies around here. We did get most of the garden weeded before the rain started, but not all of the lawn mowed.

We also will be replacing four windows, which have been ordered but are not ready to be picked up. Hopefully, we can get started on that project before too long.

I'll be cleaning house today since it is too wet to be working in the garden.
Have a GREAT day.

Yes! We got some rain. Woke the kids but at least I didn't have to water the garden. We live in sand country so I can get out and mow today. Got the new chicks settled in the brooder/kennel in the big coop yesterday. They were the noisiest chicks I have ever seen! 3 sexlink hens and a little speckled Sussex. Also I really need to get out and round up all my stained glass equipment so that I can get at the project I need to get done. Have a good one everybody!

CherMoz , don't worry about the lawn.
there will be plenty of grass to mow after it quits raining.
I wish I had a grass catcher. I would rather have that cut grass on a compost pile .

replacing windows is an easy job with great rewards when done..

Hello, Cheesy People! I am new to chickens and fairly new to BYC, but ran across this thread this morning. I figured I should join in since I'll likely need advice from local peeps during my first winter with chickens! I'm in south central WI. Suburbs of a tiny town, but on the outskirts, so it's just farm fields and woods past my backyard.

Welcome to the Cheese heads DraftX! I am also in South Central Wisconsin. That's a great looking Coop you've got there. I raise chickens and turkeys and garden here on 9 acres. I recently brought in some blue-laced red Wyandotte hatching eggs for my broody hen to hatch and raise.
