Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Picked the last green peppers and pulled the 12 plants...this was the year to grow green peppers.....everyone I talked to had stellar peppers this year.
No hunting tonight for me...to much wind for me.
Was called that there was no water in the lodge at Camp...ran down there checked things out, and threw the breaker on...duh....easy enough for some in the know I guess. Others, ….what can I say.

good cool autumn morning,
loving these cool temps.
it is official. this morning I unplugged both bedroom window AC's.. sure was nice to have to just unplug them and wrap the cord around the front of them and shut the window. best thing I ever did was to build those AC mounts over the windows.. don't even have to cover the units with insulation and plastic like we used to.
Annie gets home from work around 9:3o.
maybe she will take me out for breakfast ??
will have to be back home in time for the Packer fiasco starting at noon..

Hey wisco friends! Not sure if you remember me, I was on here a looong time ago when I had a few hens and a few ducks. I then moved from that house and ended up in a duplex for a year, so didn’t own birds and fell off this forum. I had since moved to a hobby farm in Washington county, and have 4.3 acres. I now have who knows how many chickens, and we raise hogs for our family. :)

Was wondering if any one would have some hatching eggs for olive eggers or even black copper marans for sale? I’ve ordered shipped eggs and I think my post office just hates me as they never hatch and come looking rough through the post.

If not I guess I’ll buy some chicks come spring from a hatchery. Just want some green eggs in my life! ;)

good Packer win Sunday,
today I cut two of the apple air layers loose and put each of them into one gallon pots.
neither of them looked too great, but time will tell..
too bad about your shipped eggs.. that is a common complaint.. also, some of the people who ship eggs aren't always the most honest..
there is a home hatchery in Florence, Wisc
I think the name of it is Northwoods Poultry
they have exotic chickens.. their last name is Conroy, I believe..
I have looked it up on the net..
I saw them on wisc public TV..

Whoever said you actually had to have birds to be here?

Busy day here. I am in the middle of stripping an old chest I picked up from my mom. Beautiful old wood; I can’t wait to get it looking sharp once again. Of course I forgot to take a before picture......

Checked my bees yesterday. Discovered two weeks ago they have mites, so I swapped out their treatment for the next round. I’ll take that out in two weeks as well. They look like they are a large colony so keep the fingers crossed they make it through the winter. They are still building comb everyplace so that is a good sign.

It feels like fall has arrived with a vengeance..... cold, wet, cloudy..... give me sunshine and 80’s anytime....

Annie picked up a heavy chest of drawers in Hatley many years ago. It was painted white over green over etc etc.. the paint was about an eight inch thick, well, maybe not quite..
we stripped it with lots of stripper and scraping.
it turned out to be solid walnut..
who would do such a thing ??
check out the hatchery in my previous post.
I was impressed with it..

My oldest has a dresser that I bought for $40. Had 20+ coats of paint on it. Stripped off the paint to discover it was 1/2” mahogany. Beautiful curved front too.

I have always enjoyed refinishing old furniture...... that old wood is so beautiful.
